Hi DOGLVR- How are you doing on your healthy diet? Just want you to know I made a batch of HUMMUS last month because my grandson was coming to visit and he loves it.
Also DD made a batch of Pesto from our Basil plant. That was delicious too!
( Of course-She DID burn up my Blender doing it.! emoticon If you do attempt to make it from scratch be sure to work with very small batches of Basil at a time rather than fill it to the brim:)

I weighed in at TOPS and lost 2 1/2 lbs. last week. It kind of went over like a "lead balloon" when I said I'm not paying attention to what I'm eating and maybe that's my secret.

Now I have a question. Went to a program on how to try to avoid cancer. Fruits & colorful veggies should be top priority. My question is--I like vegetables with hummus. Is this okay?

Well you are ahead of me Roberta- I still haven't got back to using my Elliptical. But I know I will soon. Gotta go post my foods for today though. So good to see you on here again, Roberta!-

Something similar happened to me: I became so obsessed with logging all my food, that exercise took a back seat! Then I read "Intuitive Eating," started eating what I was hungry for, and made exercise the priority. Now, recovering from my accident, I'm getting back to exercising 15 minutes at a time.

What works for me probably will not work for anyone else. When you find something that works for you, stick with it.

Hey DOGLVR8--I have had the same thing happen to me. Had a stressful week with no computer to post my foods on and no computer to post my fitness minutes and how many steps I took. ( computer was at the repair shop for over a week.) Also had a cancer spot cut out on my forehead and another scheduled for next week. I did weigh myself each morning the same as usual and low and behold I couldn't believe I lost 3 pounds in last couple of weeks!!
I think that even without all our tools we have been so well educated that maybe we are finally making the right choices without effort on our part.
That said-- I am so happy to finally be able to [post my info again. It is kinda like a reward of sorts for doing good emoticon Pat

I've had computer trouble so haven't been in touch.

Now an observation. I've belonged to TOPS for a long time and the pounds go off & on. The past couple of weeks I got so disgusted that I just didn't pay attention to what I eat. As a result I've been losing. Is it possible that we get so hung up on food that we defeat the purpose.

I like my new way of thinking. After all, at my age I should be enjoying myself not stressing, especially about poundage.
