ALOVEBEAM- this plan allows the healhty fats which help absorb nutrients.

Do you need to drop the nuts- seeds and avocado?

The healthy fats are what keep me here! lol- I know I do have to watch them as they can add up and I still have weight to lose

Dr. McDougall and Dr. Esselstyn advise against nuts-seeds-avocados for heart health.

I am a vegan so i eat a lot of nut pates and avocado on my salads to keep me satiated. So im trying to see how i can adjust without the avocado or nuts.

An avocado is calorically dense-
At the center of Dr. Fuhrmanís Nutritarian diet is a simple health equation:

H=N/C
Your health (H) is predicted by your nutrient intake (N) divided by your calorie intake (C).

This is why the salad is considered the main dish. I do know Dr. Fuhrman says that if you are athletic/very active you can allow more of the good fats. I have about 1/3 of an avocado along with about 2 ounces of nuts/seeds as I am training for a half marathon.

This way of eating is based on micronutrients and not macro nutrients which is why chicken and fish- dairy...animal products are not a big part of it....
but-
Hi James- the Eat to Live Life program can include small amounts of animal. Dr. Fuhrman even has some recipes that has eggs- and some meat.

The 6 week challenge does not include meat or diary

But as Dr. F has said although kale is at the top of the list it does not mean we only eat kale lol
If you want to eat in a way that does not limit fats there is keto. It did not work for me as it gave me heart palpitations, constipation, vertigo and fatigue.I did lose weight but I could lose weight just drinking beer too.. I gave it a try last year as I was curious about becoming a fat adapted athlete.

I tried to figure this out too. I don't know. I'm actually a Keto guy, so I eat meat and all sorts of veggies.

I know meat is not on the "Eat To Live" program at all. From my point of view I avoid the carbs, so there are plants I won't eat, like wheat and other high carb things. But avocados are loaded with fat, and very very low carb, so I eat them.

I love mashing avocados in my salads they keep my full so i dont want startches..why is it only 1 a day?
