Well my first week went REALLY well. I am doing things a little different this time because yes this isnt a Diet its going to be a life change for me. Last time I did it I did it merely to lose the weight, now I am doing it to get my body healthy and the weight to me is just a bonus! I am down 2lbs this week, and ready for the weekend! My challange will be Sunday but I will pull through it the best I can. Going grocery shopping to get all the right foods! A friend gave me her blender so I can start with the smoothies again! They are my FAV! Got my 6 year old hooked on the Green Smoothie, she doesnt even know how many veggies she is eating but she loves the taste of the blueberrys! :) I thank you for your incourgement and support! I have read some of the previous blogs and I see that a lot of you have had great success with this! I am excited to see where this will take me and I cant wait to be healhy and able to climb 3 flights of stairs without wheezing the entire time! :)

I want to wear the same pants I graduated in, to this reunion! ;)

I think its important NOT to go ETL as a diet. Ya, you loose weight but if you are not doing it as a life style you will fall off the diet bandwagon again. You need to figure out how to eat healthy and live your life. Start by adding nutrient-dense plant foods to every meal and naturally reducing the fatty, sugary, salty stuff. Give yourself a couple of months to figure out what foods will be the mainstay of your new healthy life style. When you are ready, do the six week plan.

As long as you are trying your very best, there is no question of failure.

See if you can avoid canoe trips and bandwagons until you reach your goal! emoticon

I think the most important thing in staying a major change in eating habits is to shape your thinking to match your new eating style.

One way to do this is to read Eat for Health Vol. 1. The repetition and gentle guidance gets you in the groove.

The most effective health-care is self-care.

Nutrition is the prescription.

You can literally stretch your lifespan by shrinking your waistline.

Nutrition and other lifestyle factors that you can choose are a more significant determinant of your health than genetics.

Filling your stomach with high-nutrient foods is like by-pass surgery without the surgery.

We are all born with an innate desire to not only survive but thrive.

You did it once you can do it again, think of this as the way you eat instead of a diet. I try to stay on around 80-90%

Welcome ANNAM27! There is a thread going on started by BRITEPHOENIX which is called Holiday Challenge. The link is:

You might want to jump on that thread as a few people have joined the challenge - might help all of us to stay on course through the holidays, and I figure, if we can get through that, we should be able to get through most situations pretty easily!

Hello everyone!

I am really excited about starting the ETL program again. I bought the book last year and read it entirely! I started the program and lost 30lbs in 2 months.. then went on a Canoe trip, fell off the bandwagon and havnt been able to get back on but something clicked in me and I am ready to start it again! I have had a hard time dieting because I have certain stomach issues that wont allow me to eat red meat and I am also lactose so this program is honestly the best for me! I hope I can stick with it! Just joined SparkPeople a few weeks ago from a health program we started at work but when I found this I knew I had to join! :)
Any tips you all can give me on how to stay on track would be good! I also have high bloodpressure, and Im only 27! My Health is heading down and I am ready to pick it back up! I have about 70 lbs to lose to be a healthy weight so Im anxious to see everyone else's results and hope that it will keep me motivated! I really hope to make it past the Holidays without falling off again, so this is going to be my biggest challange. Well.. here I go!! :)

I want to wear the same pants I graduated in, to this reunion! ;)
