Hey There, no it is actually inviting to me because as one said, sometimes it is a fruit salad or a veggie salad and I kinda believe Dr. Furhman was thinking veggie - not sure at the moment, but a friend of mine Todd Glasco created this salad he calls "Waldorf Supreme -"
Todds Waldorf Supreme

This salad can be used as a stand alone dish, or a side dish with any meal. Delicious.
Ingredients

* 2 Apples (I use fuji), chopped
* 2 firm Tomatoes, chopped
* 2 Avocados, Chopped
* 1 Sweet Pepper (Orange or Yellow), Chopped
* ˝ Sweet Onion or Shallot, Chopped
* 1 sprinkle Olive Oil (up to 1 tablespoon if desired)
* 1 pinch Sea Salt
* 1 dash Cayenne Pepper (more if you like it hot)
* 1 handful Sprouts (Optional)

Preparation

Combine all ingredients.

The secret to this recipe is Stir, Stir, Stir to distribute the avocado. The avocado you use should be “medium” – not hard and not squishy soft – but just inbetween so it holds some form, yet spreads a bit to coat the other ingredients.---------from goneraw website----- It is on youtube is you want to watch someone make it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDEaCWUOLVI

Later on, I am going to post a picture on my blog about the size salad I am going to eat - that one is basic, but I can add little things to it. I always have a Granny Smith Apple in my salad. If I have them, Bosc Pears, and black olives. I hope this helps. emoticon

I eat 2 enormous salads every day and its not at all boring. For those of you who crave something hot, I plop hot cooked vegetables on top of my greens, sometimes a balsamic vinaigrette on top of the whole thing or maybe some kind of salsa, maybe a green salsa, maybe a roasted pepper salsa whatever I am in the mood for. I change up the vegetables and greens all the time too and sometimes there's beans sometimes there's nuts or a little quinoa etc. etc.

I found being fat/overweight much more boring!!

I constantly make the plan that I'm going to have a green smoothie for breakfast and then huge salads for both lunch and dinner...it hasen't happened on more than maybe one or two days yet.

Two meal salads a day just doesn't work for me. I don't feel as satisfied with a dinner salad as I do with a warm veggies. Like others I sometimes eat a small side salad, but my salads take a lot of work to make.

There are lots of ways of looking at what a salad is. Most of us automatically think of greens, but isn't cut up fruit that I have in the morning instead of a smoothie a fruit SALAD? I notice that many restaurants offer fresh roasted beets under their salad options. We just need to broaden our descriptions of what a salad is.

I thought that the ETL way meant two salads a day, lunch and dinner, but I guess not! That's a relief.

There are lots of way of changing up salads by the ingredients and dressings you use, but I am like most of you with one large salad for lunch and usually something hot for dinner with maybe a side salad. Especially in the summer I may occasionally have a salad for lunch and dinner or if I go out for lunch and have a hot meal which is what I usually try to do, I like to choose something I wouldn't fix at home, then I will have the big salad for dinner.

I eat one huge salad a day, usually at lunch. For dinner I'll normally have raw vegetables, like sliced tomatoes with just a drizzle of vinaigrette.

I rarely eat two salads a day and I LOVE salads. If I eat 2, one is huge, a meal, everything fresh and raw in one big bowl. The other would be a side salad. Today would be an example. I had a business lunch in an Italian Restaurant. Had angel hair pasta with pomodoro sauce ( tomatoes) and a salad. I plan to have a huge salad for supper.

I don't know that I have ever had two meal sized salads in one day, it's possible, but I don't think it would happen often. Between smoothies and salads I sometimes just crave something hot.

I stay on my road and I don't change lanes.

I eat my main, big salad at lunch filled with vegetables and have a smaller, simpler salad in the evening with my dinner. The evening salad is a simple green salad with only onion and the tiny, wonderful hydroponic cucumbers. The two salads are like two totally different things.

I would be pushing it if I try to get two salads in. ( if I eat two salads its smaller salads along with something else)

Usally I will eat one big slald and then some sauteed veggies.

I'm interested in this as well because suddenly I find myself bored with 1 salad a day. And I don't want to enter this potential danger zone!

To date, I have not been able to become interested in eating TWO fresh salads a day. One, fine. Two, just am not interested. It seems too boring to eat two salads a day, and maybe too filling. If you eat two salads a day on a regular basis, do you eat two different kinds of salads, or do you eat basically the same kind of salad and mix it up with what you plop on top of it? I just can't picture being able to eat two fresh salads a day.

Let me into your minds and kitchens so that I can see how people do this...
