My favorite days off are usually spent cooking something aromatic that takes some time to make (especially on beautiful fall days), or visiting with family members, or walking in a local park. Simple, inexpensive activities make me happiest.

The most effective health-care is self-care.

Nutrition is the prescription.

You can literally stretch your lifespan by shrinking your waistline.

Nutrition and other lifestyle factors that you can choose are a more significant determinant of your health than genetics.

Filling your stomach with high-nutrient foods is like by-pass surgery without the surgery.

We are all born with an innate desire to not only survive but thrive.

I'm looking at taking a day off later this month. I do plan on getting some list stuff done (like trying a new recipe) but nothing too big. I hope the weather is cool enough that i can lay outside and read a book. Hopefully a fun book, not my usual text-type book.

In the summer, true time off means two or three days camping. Totally away from things I need to do at home, a good book to read under a shade tree, DH napping in the camper.

When I take a day off it depends on what energy I have. It can mean hanging around the house doing nothing, watching movies, napping, Sparking, enjoying my courtyard, napping, calling friends, napping.

Some days off I head to my favorite hiking place (Bok Tower Gardens) and enjoy the day alone. Have lunch, wander through the gardens, listen to the carillon and the birds. Maybe do some shopping other than groceries and necessities.

Some days off I head off to meet friends for lunch or some other kind of excursion. One of my favorite days off is to meet my business partner and go to my favorite vegan restaurant in Orlando and then Whole Foods.

If it's a day off with DH it still kind of depends on our energy level. We both like to go hiking at nature preserves or Bok Tower Gardens. Sometimes we just take road trips to "someplace" meaning where ever we end up. We like to go to art festivals, museums, etc.

I stay on my road and I don't change lanes.

My days off seem to all be different, for instance tomorrow my Red Hat Society chapter is meeting at a local restauran for breakfast, all 16 of us. I sometimes spend days like your day today Anne, nothing scheduled or planned and just take the day as it comes.

I took the day off today. That used to mean not doing anything but now it means allowing spontaneity.

I told people who might expect to see me that I was unavailable and I meandered through my day. Yes I did laundry, and I cooked, and I did some paperwork, and so forth, but I also did not set myself to finish anything on a list. I picked up my book several times and read, I rambled around the apartments, I took a nap.
