Dr. Fuhrman's site for a new ETL-er?

WILD4STARS, I got basically the same response about cancellations when I called late yesterday, so, like you, I'm comfortable with the likelihood that the site is genuine.

55WALKER--never too late to be of help! I hadn't thought of the possibility of waiting to join, and it's a good point. I already feel a bit woozy from reading the book, reading the back posts, intense conversations with family this weekend and working out the program in terms of DH's response to ETL (leery--he's going to read the book for himself).

I haven't planned to join until hubby gets through the material this weekend and we discuss, so I have a bit of time. I'll certainly consider waiting to join if that works out best.

I'm probably a little late to be of any help here but here is my two cents worth:
I am a member (same username there too) but did not join until I had been on ETL for about 6 months.
I am glad I joined but I am also not sorry that I waited to join. It would have been info overload for me the first few months.
I enjoy reading on the forums, especially the ask the doc part

WATERDIAMONDS, Given your level of interest in finding out all you can about this, joining the website might be a good idea. However, I have been following his diet as well as I can without membership at his website. OTOH, I am about to join, because I invested in his $150 package deal via his PBS program, and that includes a membership in the website. See you there (when my package arrives)!

I've never tried to cancel, but I did ask the question when I joined. I was told canceling was not a problem, call or send an email. Any time I have called about orders or with questions on something I was thinking of ordering I have talked to a human person, not the voice-mail hell that you can get with some companies.

Will do. I'm leery about signing up for anything that automatically renews my membership and adds the fee to my credit card, so I'm checking into how easy it is to cancel if I choose to do that. But for now, I think I'm a go, and I'll let you know how it works out.

Waterdiamonds, let me know how you like it. I've have considered it also but have decided to wait until end of the first 6 weeks, just to be sure this is something I will continue to do. Not quite ready to put my money were my mouth is. : )

Thanks, Wild4Stars, for such a thought-filled response. The more I check out the site, the more it makes sense, and your input confirms that idea.

I have been a member for quite some time, maybe 4 years-ish. I go in streaks where I am in there a lot, streaks where not so much. I like watching some of the archived videos and teleconferences. Also like searching the discussions, especially the "Ask the Doctor" forum. I have never ask a question there, but I think others on the team have. I like searching the recipes.

Now and then I think about dropping it, then something comes up that I go there and find answers for things or a recipe I like. I used it more when I was a newbie than I do now, but I still use it enough that I'm not ready to give it up!

When they changed the new pricing to the "tiered" deal, they took all of us veterans and gave us the Platinum membership so it makes it even more attractive to stay. If I drop it, then want to rejoin, I will have to pay more than I do now to have total access. I'm like a fish on the hook, they have me and I can't let go !!!

Bottom line, I feel like I get my money's worth. Maybe not every single month but overall, yes.

I found a thread explaining that the drfurhman.com website has been changed to tiered membership and noticed that several of you expressed interest in it because the price seems more reasonable.

I'd like to know, from those of you who do subscribe online, how helpful you find the site.

Would you recommend it to newbies? What do you find to be the most and least helpful aspects of membership?

Do you use the searchable archives, the Healthy Times newsletters or the archived teleconferences?

Or do you feel the information in the book and in team participation here on Spark are equally helpful?
