About 10 years ago I got to go on a grant sponsored 10 day field trip for history teachers. Two of the stops were Antietam and Gettysburg. I didn't feel anything "spooky" at Gettysburg, but it was like 900 degrees and drown you standing up humid and I was so physically miserable a ghost could probably have come and jumped up and down in front of my I wouldn't have noticed. It gave me a new appreciation for the soldiers of the Civil War though - there I was in a tank top and shorts and melting, they were there in wool uniforms, hauling all their gear, many on short rations and shorter sleep.

Antietam was a different story, It was cooler so I was more aware of my surroundings and the Bloody Lane was downright eerie. Even in bright daylight in the middle of the summer. I didn't see any particular ghosts, but there was that feeling about it. There are only a few places I've been with an eerier vibe. One is another national monument - the Sand Creek Massacre site. This is local (ish) history for me so I'll include a link in case anyone is interested. There is such a feeling of sadness and despair there. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_Creek_mas

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

Interesting...

It's not who you think you are that holds you back...it's who you think you're not...

I love that list - kinda like a horror bucket list!

What if you were simply more devoted to loving your self?

Yesterday I posted movie set in a national park. Today no movie, but a link to the "creepiest places in US National Parks". I'm sure there are tons of other parks with haunted history, but this is the list I found.
