I do knock on Wood. I have a small plastic statue of the Virgin Mary that I cannot throw out for some reason, btw, I am not Catholic ( hubby is, non practicing) and I am Lutheran also non practicing,. I have also banned Ouija boards from this house, although the kids tried, because I saw The Exorcist when it first came out in 1973, I think and it scared the crap out of me.

I know a lot of people don't believe - but to me not messing w/ Ouija boards is akin to not walking under a ladder. Not so much superstition as a basic safety precaution. I've heard too many real life stories from actual people (not books and movies and hearsay) to want to mess with something like that.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I don't mess with Ouija boards. EVER. My sister and I played with one when we were in our late teens or early 20s. I seriously felt like something was following me around after that. We took the board out into the desert and burned it. So creepy.

I was raised Catholic so I also have a lot of superstitious around crucifixes and inviting evil into your house. I don't go to church but to this day, I always hang a crucifix over my front door. Just for in case.

I'm not superstitious, but I do have little quirks. I try to avoid mirrors in the dark (thank you Stephen King, I can no longer go into the bathroom in the dark in the middle of the night). I wear a crystal and charge/cleanse it every full moon, I really feel like it makes a difference in my energy since I can really feel a difference when I take it off. I have a whole long story about that if anyone is interested. I avoid walking under ladders, but again that's just common sense safety. I have a black cat and she just might be evil, but I think that's just her personality and nothing to do with her color.

I thought most people weren't superstitious these days but... When I took my son in to have his braces put on they gave him a mirror to see the what the brackets looked like. He handed the mirror to me, he thought I had it and I thought he still had it, and we managed to drop and break the mirror. They gal putting on the braces was really really upset by the broken mirror.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I知 not superstitious at all. When I was little my family members would say all those little songs and talk about that stuff. But like you, I love black cats and Friday the 13th. I don稚 have a lucky number or lucky charm. I will be, one day, that old lady on the corner that celebrates Halloween and owns a gaggle of black cats. Lol

I知 always curious about other cultures and luck and superstitions. Good question!

What if you were simply more devoted to loving your self?

Are you superstitious at all?
If you are, which superstitions to you adhere to?
Or do you have any other beliefs? (not asking about religious beliefs here)

I知 not superstitious for the most part, but I try not to say 的 never or I always and I knock on wood, as if that helps fate...lol... but black cats for me are my favorites and lucky and Friday the 13th has always been a favorite day of mine. I will not throw spilled salt over my shoulder because why make the mess bigger? I do try to avoid the mark of the beast, 666, when I can, but realize that it is just a number between 665 and 667... usually. I don稚 walk under ladders because that痴 just a common sense safety practice. If I find a penny I do pick it up, because, hey...money, but I actually do recite the little poem...find a penny, pick it up, all day long you値l have good luck. I have opened lots of umbrellas indoors and broken several mirrors without bad results. I知 not a big believer in good luck charms or numbers, but I like the idea of them. I do believe in the supernatural and in magic, though, because if you don稚 believe, you will never find it. :)
