I don't have an instant pot, but I do have a huge pressure cooker because I used to can just about anything. I've never made anything else in it, but I won't get rid of it, who knows when I might get the canning bug again?

I also have a wolfgang puck pressure cooker but we pretty much just make rice in it and we also have a smaller rice cooker but it doesn't get used as much.

I'm avoiding getting an instant pot due to the fact that I'm pretty sure I'd not use it.

And yes, I feel very fat today. Hubby complimented me saying I'm looking trim, which threw me because of how totally fat I'm feeling, and bloated, and I keep fluctuating the same 3-4 lbs and it's frustrating. Ugh.

Iíve heard of a few that blew up, not the Instant Pot, but previously. I was gifted a pressure cooker when I got married and I never used it, eventually giving it away. I am pretty sure this pot must be a lot safer today, but I would stilll do my homework before buying one.

I don't know a lot about pressure cookers, I only remember the one my mom had when I was growing up that she barely used. She used the pot as a big saucepan for soups and chili and stuff, but almost never used the pressure lid.

I've thought about the Instant Pot, but they are kind of expensive and I really don't have much space for storage in my kitchen. I would have to use it a lot for it to be worthwhile. I'm thinking pretty seriously about getting one though. I don't need it to talk to my phone, but the multi-use function sounds pretty good.

Which model do you have Cathy? Is it the Instant pot brand or another brand?

I do for sure! I've been bloated since I had gum surgery. Hubby was trying to be kind and bought me jello and pudding. I know why I don't buy that stuff anymore. I think all of the sugar in them has left me bloated. I'm frustrated because I can't do any strenuous or vigorous exercise for at least 2 weeks and it's hard finding soft foods I can eat. I can't eat bread and I can't eat rice either. Today, I went to the store to buy same ramen, cup o' noodles, cottage cheese, canned peaches in juice and some other things. I can't eat anything with seeds either so I don't know if I can make a smoothie with strawberries, raspberries and/or blackberries. I'm waiting to hear back from the doctor's office about it. Hopefully, tomorrow they'll get back to me.

You guys should get and InstantPot! It doesn't really heat up the house and you can make all kinds of food in it in much less time than it would normally take.

Laney - grill is a good alternative, but when it's this hot that's not a lot of fun either but at least it doesn't heat up the house.

Good goals!

I hate to cook in the summer. I love my kitchen in the fall and winter, but as it gets hot I just don't wanna do it!

My biggest problem is that tend to graze when I'm home and I'm home for the summer. I need to work on sitting down to regular meals on a reasonable schedule. I also hate to cook (especially when it's 900 degrees outside) and I eat out far too much.

So, my two things to focus on are regular meals instead of grazing and more home cooking because even if it's not the healthiest thing in the world it has to be better than restaurant meals all the time.

I am so sorry ya'll feel fat. Me too! I wanna feel good!

Good comes from within! I know ya'll have it in ya! Lets get in gear! What's one thing you are willing to do - really do- that will help you?

This week I've cut down on the creamer in my coffee. Small steps for me! I feel like that has made a bit of a difference!
