All of those are great settings. I think a good one would be a superstore (WalMart, Cosco, etc) that suddenly manifests a haunting/possession.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I agree with all of you haunted houses are great. I would a haunted house with a crazed killer both killing people.

I think a museum after hours would be a good setting, The Relic, is a good one in a museum.
Also a cruise ship, where passengers are killed off one by one.

Haunted houses are always good, also places of great horrors of humanity like war zones things like that. I always thought it would be great if Groups like Ghost Adventures or Ghost hunters would go to holocaust museums, those could make some interesting investigations.

I adore haunted houses! I think I love those because I consider my home my true happy place and I could not imagine anything happening here.

But I also love haunted forests. Something really spooky about that!

You know what I think would make an awesome horror/comedy setting - a work place! Like a haunted copier spits out bloody papers or papers with clues that something horrible happened there. Coffee maker fights back. Messages from beyond on the computer.....

What if you were simply more devoted to loving your self?

What setting would you like to see a horror movie take place in?

How about more that occur in neighborhoods. Which is a great set up for horror/comedies, which I love. like The 'Burbs and Shaun of the Dead. Oh! Think about Christmas Vacation as a horror movie with those uppity neighbors. :) That would be fun!

I also love creepy haunted houses where the house itself is also a character in the movie. I know there are lots, but there should be more. :) The animated "Monster House" done live action would be a total freak out... and btw, it also takes place in a neighborhood. :)
