I was reading about this movie earlier today. We must be on the same wavelength today. I want to see this movie.

I'm right there with you Laney.

I'm looking for my inner athlete, but I'm afraid I may have eaten her. If I'm very quiet I can hear her screams of terror.

I cannot wait to see this. I'm O.K. with this not being an adaptation of the series. The characters are interesting enough to make infinite stories with them. I don't care what the critics say.

"Dark Tower"

"The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O'Dim, also known as the Man in Black, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black" - IMBD

I went to see this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. This is based on Stephen Kings' Dark Tower series, and includes snippets of many of his other books. Readers/viewers that are hoping for an onscreen version of the book will be disappointed - this is not that movie. It takes up where the books left off, and is a sequel of sorts. Many (ok, almost all) things are different, but it still manages to tell the story of the last gunslinger. There is plenty of room for a sequel, but if that doesn't happen it does wrap up with an acceptable ending. I really did enjoy it, but I know that there will be a lot of fans disappointed by the departures from the book.
