I wish Spark would set up a good tracker for us who need to gain for whtever reason. I need to gain....lost due to health....heart and cancer. I have no appetite.

I've noticed the same thing!! Very difficult to factor. i am just using the high end calorie count on the bottom of my nutrition page as a guide...

That's what I think I'm going to do. Doctor is really not an option I can't afford one without insurance and with insurance my parents will know and I'm kinda trying to keep this from them so they don't get angry (they know i struggle with disordered eating).

I would suggest talking to either your Dr. or a nutritionist. I have also gotten really mixed messages from the internet, so I don't blame you for confused. What if you went right down the middle around 1650? A little bit higher than spark and not as high as 1700. Then change as you need to?

When I try to set up a weight gain program, spark gives me the same numbers as someone trying to maintain. This cannot be right... especially when I go to other websites telling me that even to gain weight at a rate of half a pound a week i need about 1700 cals a day (spark is telling me i should never be over 1580).

Does anyone use sparks ranges to gain? I feel like when i stay in my range even if its maintenance i lose (for some reason this seems to really happen when i stick to the low end of sparks range and then work in a high end day... after that high end day my weight is often very low).

should i just try to eat 16 to 17 hundred a day for now and see what happens? (technically according to the US gov food pyramid site... i should be eating like 1800 a day but i feel like i would just balloon up and look pregnant if i did that!!)
