I am a Sr. citizen who keeps losing weight. Now 6'2 1/2" and 154. Go to Dr. to no avail.
Just as with the want to be losers there are a variety of us who want to be gainers. Any info on Sr. weight loos would be appreciated.

Best wishes and good health to the younger want to gain people.

Congratulations on your gain!! And way to go with the exercise. I actually just made a commitment to myself to do 20 minutes of strength training 3 days a week. I have to get up at 5:30 to do it so it's a pretty big deal for me. I've gained and lost a pound or two over the last month. I haven't been as committed as I should be - but that's changing! I have such a hard time eating enough!

Anyway, let's keep encouraging each other. It really helps. So many people look at us skinny folks and think we have it easy. It's obviously just as hard to gain as it is to lose!

Hey Angel...I have looked all over this site for this particular subject and am so glad to find it.
I spent most of my life with people asking me if I was anorexic; NOT, nor bulemic, nor any eating disorder; and gee, I'm sorry folks, if you don't have my metabolism or lack of appetite or whatever. I'm 48 years old, usually weigh between 113 and 120 lbs., according to the time of day/month/etc.

I joined a gym two months ago and I go four times a week, lift weights, and run on the treadmill. It makes me very happy. I'm carefully watching my intake, not of calories but calories from fat, my protein intake, and my cardio and strength training program. I now drink 8 glasses of water a day. My weight is actually up 4 lbs., but my legs and arms actually have MUSCLES in them! WOOHOO!

I feel better than I have in 20 years; I have more energy and a better sense of well-being since I don't know when. I feel beautiful!

I appreciate a chance to ramble on! God bless and good luck to all of you!

I'm new here and would love to see more progress reports!! I think for me, time would prevent me from reading and posting more but I am going to make the effort and hope others will too.
I am currently at 85.5 and need to get to 100. I've been tracking for a week and have averaged 1590 in calories without really trying too hard to add. Now I'll try to add calories and protein. That's the hard part for me. I don't eat beef or pork and I don't do well with soy.
Let's hear how everyone is doing!

Hey,

I feel the same way. I have been getting motivation from others on the exercises I do, like running. But they still don't understand the struggle I go through trying to gain weight. I have been on SparkPeople for 3 weeks and I have gained a pound since I started. To those who don't understand, it's not a big deal, but I know that's a lot in such a short period of time. I'm here to give and receive that motivation to keep trying. Congratulations on the weight gain. Have a great one!

Hey, i know we are the minority on spark people but cmmon guys, where is the motivation? I never find new posts here no one ever talks about their progress, we are suppose to be a team and motivate each other, so lets do that.
I started spark people in april,, ive gained 6 lbs since and have been stuck there, im boosting up my calorie intake once again so that i can continue to gain the weight, im not going to give up!!

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

* my ticker is REVERSED total lbs LOST really = total lbs GAINED
