I agree especially on the fruit. Watermelon is quite high in sugar and I can sit down and eat a very large portion. Sugars are the biggest enemy for me anyway!!

I know when I eat a whole foods diet or a plant based diet, Mediterranean diet things look promising. And I'm slimmer and energized and am fit. And I know it's hard to let go of the sugary coffee or soft drink or candy, dessert, chips, burgers and fries and pizza but just cut down on how often you eat it. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, like 3-5 srvgs of vegs and 2 fruits. If you have routine blood tests, look at the numbers for sugar, cholesterol, etc. Have your blood pressure monitored, even if you don't have high blood pressure. These are great measures for health. Eat clean and you will be thinner and have a great fit in the wedding dress. The scale may be heavier but the dress smaller.
The scale should only be used for information. It doesn't measure how fit you are nor how healthy you are. Which you may already be! I know you posted your message in May, but hope things have turn around.

Yes... emoticon
try to journal everything you eat.....you might have to input the information yourself if it is not listed. emoticon

Exercise more I say and try not to eat at night....if you do just something light like a spoon of peanut butter, bite of fruit, almonds.. emoticon
Do not deprive yourself either and just cut down on portions... emoticon lots of liquids.

just my opinions.. emoticon emoticon

Hi Lu.
The other posters here may have the answer - keeping track of everything you eat and keep plugging along.

Something that happens to me when I begin exercising after not doing so for a long time, or when I up my exercise, is that I gain weight temporarily. There is an article here on sparkpeople about it somewhere; I will try and find it. Apparently, when we begin exercising, or start up again after a hiatus, our muscles take in more water than usual. If we keep going, ensuring we are drinking enough to flush out the excess, it corrects itself after a while. Perhaps this is happening to you as well?

Also, for me, when I was losing, I needed to actually eat more than the sparkpeople guidelines - otherwise I was very very hungry, had no energy to exercise, and my body thought I was starving, so hung on to my weight. Is it possible your exercise routines are a lot and your body is holding on to weight as you are eating very little to try and lose more?

edited to add - here is an article about weight gain and exercise:

I don't know about picking a date for the completion of weight loss. I lost my weight on WW back in 1970. The Plan was very strict, we were only allowed to eat certain foods, and we had to write it all down. (There was no exercise component in weight loss back then.) I remember the leader telling us that our job was to follow the Plan to the letter, and the weight would come off in God's good time. And yes, we could invoke God at WW back then. She was right. I think I learned as much about patience as weight loss. Some people lost 1/4 of a pound a week, others lost 33 pounds, we are all different. To this day, I plan my food in advance and check it all off every day. The scale just confirms my work. It's been 47 years that I have tracked every bite, and it's worth it!!!

Do you keep a food journal writing every morsel you eat!? So important and it weighing yourself if you've eaten some salty meal the night before. Don't give up and keep it moving!

Hi Everyone,

Most of you all know that im coming into the church on Christ the King which is 7 months from now and im trying to lose like about 50 or 40 lbs to fit into my wedding rehearsal dress which is a size 10.

I seriously don't know what the heck is going on here. I haven't been weighing in like normal cause I think my scale is messed up. the last time I weighted in was like I believe Saturday morning 4/29/17 ever since then ive been on like a plateau or something and cant seen to get over it no matter how many classes I do to jump start this weight loss thing again I even did like an 1hr and 25 mins on one machine and like 15 on another last nite and still nothing but a few days ago when I did weight myself in the morning after I used the restroom I like gained 2 lbs and all but my weight is still not changing grrrrrrr. I think I may need a new scale. Which brings me to my other question what is a really good scale that I can depend on for a honest measurements / weight in????

Thanks
Lu
