Darlene - the chat room is open and Leah (CATHOLICCORGI) has placed a sticky on it so it remains on the first page.

It's called "Sharing our way through fall"

I'm sorry to hear that you have a cold that is lingering. I find that colds nowadays go on for ages. When I was younger, they would be finished in a matter of days. No more.

I found out that I have a cold that is lingering to me and now the whole family has a cold. And she ordered a xray done for my chest and nothing showed up so that is good news for me. She ordered me some cough med with codeine. I even walked around the building to find my daughter and came back were I started before so I had my walk in for the day.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the nearest one is 1,329 km (826 miles) away.
I don't think she will like that trip for church every Sunday, lol!

CJ, look online and see if there is a Personal Ordinariate church near your mother. She'd still have to convert to Rome, but the form of the service would be familiar. The old Anglican service is a form of the old Sarum Rite, which pre-dated the Reformation by several hundred years. It's in English but you would recognize the form.

NELLJONES - I don't think I knew that about you. Thanks for sharing a bit about your story.
I know what you are saying about church politics and changing of church doctrine in the Anglican/Episcopal church. I often mention to my mother (who is Anglican) that she can always become Catholic. She is often annoyed at the changes that happen frequently in her church.

I still have to take classes but when I decide to go back to my old church I'm going to pray the rosary no matter what.

Dar, I am a new Catholic myself, but I didn't have to take classes. As a longtime and well educated Anglo Catholic, I know more about church doctrine, history and tradition than most people in the church.

In 2012, Pope Benedict created a non-geograhic diocese in America called the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, and accepted a group of Anglo Catholic parishes into full communion with Rome. There isn't a local parish here, alas. I do so miss the High Church Solemn Mass that we had every week, but the faith is more than the form of the service.

The Anglican Church in America may have seceded from the Episcopal Church, but it's still run from the bottom up, rather than from the top down. Each church vestry has the ability to re-write their doctrine in small but insidious ways. I have absolute faith in the Papacy to keep control over the Church, my Church now. In the Roman Church, I can worship without having to worry about church politics, because in the end it's all about the Faith.

Let's keep the chat room open cause I think it would be a good idea to see how every one is doing.
God spoke to me and told me that He wanted me to become Catholic and now I'm taking classes and loving it.
