It is too wonderful to say more.

Today is the beginning of the rest of my life.

That is so neat that the Holy Spirit worked like that to find something you needed as well!

What if we woke up tomorrow with only those things that we thanked God for today?

CJ I found it on the Internet and copied it off. It's perfect thank you very very much. I spent ages looking for an appropriate Novena, and couldn't find what I wanted. God knew it, and you provided it.

I am having an awfully busy week. My lesson for today was just cancelled and I am delighted because it gave me a chance to do what I am doing now.

I won't stay long as I am going to use this spare time I have doing my Lenten duty.

Thank you again CJ.

Today is the beginning of the rest of my life.

Marie

Thank you! I remember many years ago doing a 40 day novena and then being out of town towards the end of it and I forgot to do it one day. I was so upset because it was extremely hard to have gotten as far as I did and then to feel as if I had lost it all although prayers are never lost.

Hello all.
I posted this in the Novenas Forum, but am putting it here as well, as more may wish to see it over here.

I often get caught up or forgetful when it comes to saying novenas or other such devotions, and I know I'm not the only one who worries about missing a day or more of a novena, and struggling to "catch up".

I was looking for a novena to pray this week for my dh in a book my dh gave me for Christmas a couple of years ago.

It is called "Novenas", is edited by William G. Storey, and published by Loyola Press. It has received the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat.

Well, I found a great novena (A Novena to the Good Shepherd), as well as this information on novenas and missing days:

"It is also well to remember that no scrupulosity should appear in the holding of novenas or triduums. If a day is missed for some pressing reason, or by sheer forgetfulness, we must remember that there is nothing magical about the numbers nine or three. There is biblical and liturgical precedent for these numbers but no numerical obligation whatsoever," (p. 6).

I found this very helpful. I hope others do as well.
