A prayer for all of you that are hurting here, won't you pray this with me today.

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow your healing hand to heal me. Touch my soul with Your compassion for others. Touch my heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch my mind with Your wisdom, that my mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to You in my need, and help me to lead others to You by my example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You with all my strength. Touch gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

You are free to respectfully disagree with us, Resa, as you have done already.

I do disagree with you about regulations, though. It seems to me that sparkpeople does actually have regulations (their posting guidelines, for instance), and the Almighty certainly has regulations - they're called the Ten Commandments, as well as the precepts of the Church.

I am glad that you follow sparkpeople policy as well as our religious beliefs. And that is what we are here to share. We do not all need to agree about game/posting sparkpoints threads. I'm just glad that we agree on the important things like the aspects of the Faith.

May God continue to bless you richly.

I am sorry but I am free to make posts as long as I am not offensive. Following SP policy is what I respect as well as my religious beliefs.

Please excuse me from not following your wishes. Regulations are not part of the SP spirit nor the Almighty's. Open up your heart and mind and do not pressure members of the group because you do want to take part in it.

Forgive me but I respectfully disagree with your position. This is very upsetting to some of us.

I realize that we put "stops" on them, Dee. What I meant was, that we can put stops on things all we like, but we cannot delete threads or anything, so people are still able to post there.

We've tried to explain why we put the stops. Feel free to read the rationale at the bottom of this thread, or see my response to Resa's concern in the Team Leader Board as well.

For those who are looking for the original post from Jane and the rest of the leaders, here it is:

Thanks to everyone who made such thoughtful suggestions for our Catholic Critter Team! We sincerely appreciate all the care and concern expressed for our Team and its members.

With the Easter season upon us, we are using this opportunity to 'renew' our team! The team page has been revamped to reduce the number of 'sticky' topics, so that there is room for the topics members most want to discuss.

Further, we respectfully ask that all game-like threads be retained in the SP Game Room. Doing so, will allow specific topic discussions to remain more prominent.

The Novenas Forum has been renamed. And, as always your prayer requests are welcome in the General Discussion Forum.

We've added a new forum entitled "All Things Catholic," and invite your discussion of several suggested thread topics, including (1) Catholic News & Current Events; (2) Catholic Traditions & Rituals; and (3) Respect Life in All Its Forms.

Finally, new Challenges are always exciting and welcome! We've just completed our annual Lenten Challenge, and need your input on how you'd like to proceed with a possible springtime challenge. See the related post in the Challenges forum.

Your feedback is always welcome! Please know that we are here to serve one another as we grow in our faith.

Thank you, Jane for providing a great description of the new changes that the leaders of this team had decided on! It is very clear and concise, and explains all the new changes very well!

Dee and Resa - it is a shame that these changes are not all to your liking. As Jane mentioned, the leaders felt that seeing the team page with its limited number of 'able to be seen easily' threads - it often looks like we have three main discussion threads in the general discussion forum (the top 3 that have "stickies" placed on them), and two other threads ("emoticon your mood" and "log-in-points").

While it is rather easy to click on "see more topics", I don't think all members choose to do that, or know how perhaps.

I agree very much that fun and games is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle, it is just a shame when such threads "use up" our precious space in our forums.

However, I understand that some people enjoy posting that information. As Jane said, as leaders we cannot forbid anyone to post on those other threads. It is certainly your choice to do so.

I know, for myself, I prefer to chat on the seasonal chat thread, or discuss different newsy or fun items in other threads, but to each his/her own!

May God continue to bless us all, and guide us in our healthy lifestyles!

Sparkpeople is about a healthy lifestyle and if playing a game motivates some joy in someone's life I say to keep it going. Being Catholic is just the name of a group of God loving people who practice the Catholic faith. I completely resent the fact that the games are to be restricted here. This is a loving and peaceful group and no one should be told in this free place not to express themselves as long as it is respectful. I am sorry but your request for people to stop playing games is unfounded.

The child in us may be playing a game and having some fun. This in no way is against Catholic beliefs. Please do not limit the people who wish to use the game threads.

Thank you, Dee, for your comments and thanks to others who have contacted the CC co-leaders with your concerns. We understand that there is some disappointment related to our request that game-like threads be played in the SP Game Room. Perhaps some additional information behind this request will help....

Please know that SP does not allow us to delete any threads, including the game-like ones. We can only ask that members not play them here so that other, more relevant threads are more prominent.

While we appreciate that some members use the games to regularly visit our team, it is also important to know that other members do NOT visit our team because there only seems to be game playing and fewer topics related to our faith...

As team leaders, we cannot forbid the game-like threads. We can only ask that members play games elsewhere so that there is room on the CC discussion threads for Catholic-related topics in our forums.

SP allows up to five (5) forums per team. SP allows team leaders to assign up to three (3) 'sticky' topics per forum. These are the first topics that appear on a forum on our team page. The topics without a 'sticky' designation appear on the team page in order of popularity. That is, the threads with the most responses appear first, after the sticky topics.

So what is happening is that our team's game-like thread appear first in our topics list and other, Catholic-related topics are 'buried'. Thus, many people never see these topics and don't participate in the often lively and relevant discussions.

Since one of the shared goals of our team is to promote our faith and to learn more about it from one another, we are trying to do that by having room for as many Catholic-related topics as possible.

I hope this information helps everyone on our team. Again, if you have questions and concerns, please post here or contact one of us.
