Poor thing I know that must be a tough one. Here is what I can think of:

1. If you feel the need to indulge, only indulge in what you feel is the healthiest out of all of it.
2. Always keep your water bottle nearby to help keep your tummy full, so if you do feel the need to indulge you might feel satisfied with the smallest of portions.
3. Before you start preparing food for your others make sure that you have prepared yourself a snack tray of fruits and veggies. So you can nibble on healthy things which should also help keep you from indulging on the naughty things.

Hope this helps/

Hugs, Anna

Help! How do you manage when you have multiple social events, like birthday parties, weddings, and family gatherings...with food, food, food? It's hard to stay on track when you're tired and cooking for groups of people. ugh! emoticon emoticon

Hang in there, we have done this over and over. Don't get discouraged. Just start where you left off! Keep looking forward, not behind. You can only change the future!

Oh hon, we all have those days. If you slip, don't beat yourself up. We all do it, the important thing is that you are aware. You should be proud that you have trained your body so well that it let you know it wasn't handling that type of eating well. I will say a prayer for your friend and her family (and you as well)

Take care of yourself Cyndall!

That's the way to do it...learn form the mistakes. But even if you fall again, remember not to beat yourself up over it, because we are not perfect by any means. Every meal, every day is a new choice and new start, and don't cry over the spilled milk. It's over and done with. But thank you for sharing with us....giving us a sense of reasurrance that we are all in this together and it happens to all of us (falling down/mistakes).

Last night was a bad night. My best friend had a miscarriage and had to have emergency surgery. I went over to the hospital after work but on the way picked up some food from McDonald's for her boyfriend who I knew hadn't eaten all day. It was late and I had no idea when Michael and I would be home so I used that as an excuse to relieve my stress with food. I could have made healthy choices but instead decided on two cheese burgers, a large fry, and then to top it off I got a chocolate pudding parfait from the hospital cafeteria. Afterwords I felt so so so sick and still stressed and worried and sad for my friend (who is home and doing well now). On top of all that as soon as I put my spoon down I was overwhelmed with guilt for having eaten what turned out to be 1,555 calories in one meal. I know better than to let me stress get the better of me, but I let myself down this time.

I'm trying to not let it get the best of me. This morning I got up and went to the gym. I got their early and walked extra to try to make up for it. I can't undo my choices I know I just have to move forward and try to not let that happen again. I was sure to hold myself accountable for what I ate and tracked it, something I would have never done before, but I felt like I needed to tell someone and not just shove the incident under the carpet.

So there ya have it. A case of stress eating at its best/worst. Ive felt so sick afterwords physically and emotionally. I am going to try to remember that for next time I feel like binging.

I know exactly what you mean. You are probably like me where you want to be this perfect perfect "to the T" kind of person. It's everything right or nothing at all. And I am truly to blame for that kind of thinking and mentality. And it is so the wrong kind of thinking. We need to think in small steps and start making something a habit, even if it's one or two things at a time, as long as we make it a habit and fit it into our daily routine.

So hang in there, baby girl, emoticon one step at a time and one choice at a time.

Support, motivation and inspiration... I need all of the above!!! My life has been so crazy, between my children, husband, school schedule, dr. appointments, packing so we can move and running a business I have not found time for ME! I really need a pick me up about now. I am excited that I found time to finally get on Spark but I need to start tracking my food and start exercising again because I am an unhappy camper right now emoticon

You would be amazed at how much your body relies on your food intake in order to lose weight, weird as it may seem, it is very very true.

And drinking that water is such a good thing. It has so many good benefits including keeping you YOUNG looking. Think of all the $$ that is poured into age defying products, when all we really needed to be doing all along is consume plenty of water. Your body will begin to regulate itself after awhile of you consuming such large amounts of water. So the trips to the "poddy" room won't be as frequent.

Although I did very well the last 3 days on my food plan, today I found out I cannot be trusted with a spare rib. I bought some precooked ribs and ate way too many for lunch. The good and bad news is that I didn't feel that good after eating that much, so I am going to try to keep that memory with me so I am not tempted next time. I feel so much better after eating greek yogurt, fruits, vegetables, a small amount of cheese. So maybe I need to look at more of a lacto-vegetarian diet. Also I got back on track for dinner and in the past I would have kept beating myself up over the slip up. I can see this is real progress for me and I am committed to my food plan. I am so grateful for Sparkpeople. emoticon

Kinda frustrated.... I have been doing soooo well, keeping track of my food and workouts. I was not making the progress that I SHOULD be...come to find out, I have not been eating ENOUGH! Grrrrrr! I have a hard time hitting the mark for calories unless I eat bad stuff and now I have to eat MORE???? emoticon

Plus, I finally figured out why I am doing laps back and forth from the restroom...my goal is for 8 glasses of water....I have been taking in about 101 ounces!!!!! Imma float away! emoticon

Ok...enough griping! Have a great weekend

wishing you emoticon and emoticon

This message board is for when you are feeling down and out or you are simply out of gas so to speak. We all have days or time periods when we are not at our best and can't seem to get ourselves going. Post it here and let us know what you are going through and how your fellow Fresno Sparkers can help you out. (I also strongly recommend blogging about it too).

Feel free to post should you need the support, motivation and/or inspiration visa versa by giving the support, motivation and/or inspiration. emoticon
