We just need about 10 people who are reliable, men and women! It's co-ed Softball. I'm sure there are girls only teams, and I'd have to look into that if we decided to go that route! But we need a minimum of 4 girls or else we start every inning of the game with an out. 18 and up!

I prefer to play now but let's see if we can get some more people to join to see what they want. Hopefully we can get enough people to join.

I was just thinking that if only 6 or so people show up to practice, an hour would be fine, but if there's more than that, it might need to be more than one hour if people want to get practice in playing different positions and/or batting practice. More bodies at practice = more time, usually.

We could narrow it down better later if we get enough people interested! :)

As for seasons- CAR tends to run most of the year with a few weeks off in between seasons. We could wait until Spring or so, so it will be warmer. Unless you guys want to get started now (which I'm not opposed to!). :)

Is it year round or is there a season? 6 would be better for me for practice because my son goes to bed at 7:30. Personally, I think 2 hours is too long for practice during the week but I have a lot to do at night for work so maybe others won't feel that way. It sounds like a fun way to get together!

If we go through Clovis Area Recreation (CAR), they have a recreation roster that is just for fun (and a competition one as well, but we don't have to do that one! I just want to play!). Games are 50-60 minutes one day a week (it's a fixed day, like always on Thursdays or another day). I was thinking we could practice one night a week at 6 or 7 PM depending on people's schedules, for about 2 hours depending on how many people show (smaller numbers = shorter practice, and people can come and go as they wish), and try to pick somewhere that's in the middle of Fresno/Clovis so everyone doesn't have to drive very far to get to practices. If we do CAR, they have their games at Barstow and Villa at Clovis Rotary Park.

It sounds like fun BUT not if it's super competitive. I'm not too good at it but if it was just to have a great time and no one took it too seriously I'd be interested. Of course it also depends on how much time it would take for practice and games.

Are any of you people out there in SparkFresno land interested in maybe starting up a softball team? If enough people respond, I'll look into the details of getting a team started. I once played for a team through Clovis Area Recreation, but that team switched its practice days to a day that I can't make it. If we get enough people interested, it won't cost as much per person!

If you're interested, maybe ask your friends and family, too!!

Thanks!!

(I apologize in advance if this posts multiple times- for some reason it's not posting!)
