This has been one of my biggest problems for such a long time. I used to look at the goal that I had set as my ultimate goal and hope to reach that at the end of the month, then when I didn't reach it, I'd get depressed. Then I finally realized that I've got to accept me as I am right now and love me for who am as I am right now and look towards the goal that's right in front of me right in reach rather than past it to the goal that's further out of reach. It's still a work in progress, but I'm getting better about it.

I have a TERRIBLE time with this. It's all about how my brain is wired really, and I'm working on that. Weight loss is just a small part of the process to a whole better feeling and happier me.

I think I do alright with this, except except except when it comes to my body. I can see the good in life, finances (or lack thereof) and rainy days but holy cow I can't seem to find that happy place where I am comfortable in my own skin. Which sucks, because I've gone beyond my initial goal weight (an impossibility, or so I though just 6 months ago) and I still felt fat, slovenly and gross. I know I'm none of those things, but how do you change that mentality after keeping it so close to your heart for years and years?

Now I'm 7 lbs lower than my GW and all of the doors to self confidence that I thought would open due to a serious weight loss are still padlocked. So yes, I am ignoring all of the health benefits, improvements in my skating and everything else that is abundant right now in favor of the completely vain desire to someday look awesome in a bikini.

HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU BLIND TO THE GOOD IN FRONT OF YOU BECAUSE YOU’RE LOOKING PAST IT FOR SOMETHING BETTER?
