Vali_t, thanks for getting back to me on this. I really appreciate your help. With all the answers I've gotten from everyone, I now have a list of questions to ask the doctor before I make a final decision.

My coworker told me that her ablation worked out really well for her, completely stopped her bleeding. I asked her if it caused her any problems or nasty side effects and she said that she didn't notice anything like that. She seems to be pretty happy that she had it done. If there's anything else in particular that you'd like me to ask her about the procedure, just let me know.

There was much rejoicing!

I have a coworker who had one in her late 40s to stop continual bleeding. For her it worked very well and doesn't seem to have caused any adverse effects. I'm off work this week so I won't see her until next Monday but I'll ask her about it when I do see her and I'll let you know what she has to say about it.

There was much rejoicing!

I know two people that had it when it was a fairly new procedure. One it worked for, the other it did not and she ended up having a hysterectomy. The one it worked for did eventually also have a hysterectomy recently when symptoms returned. Both said they had pretty bad cramping afterward which they felt the MD downplayed when they were explaining the procedure. They needed narcotic pain meds afterward. It's worth a try if you don't want to go down the hysterectomy route. Hope that helps a little bit! Personally, I had a hysterectomy at the age of 34 for severe fibroids and have never missed my uterus for one second!

Has anyone had endometrial ablation and if so, would you recommend it? Or does anyone know someone who has had it? Please let me know. Really need some real life info on this, not just what I can find on the internet. Thanks.
