The nationwide is fri night and the cup race is sat night. Hope if they do get rain its very early in the day.. Plus I never do trust the weather forcasts that are almost a week ahead of time. We know mother nature can be very unpredictable. So praying for clear skies on sat night.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news...... early forecast for this weekend for N Carolina and Virginia is 30% chance on Sat & 40% Sun.
Of course it's early and the weather people are only right half the time anyway........

No kidding! I'm sick to death of rain delays! I've done a rain dance before, maybe now we need to do a NO rain dance emoticon

Really what they ought to do is to put more race tracks out here in the desert. Has a race in Phoenix ever been rained out? Well I seirously doubt that a race in Albuquerque would ever be rained out, either.

Glad to hear that JJ took the blame for the wreck. Wonder if that made Jeff feel any better. Val I agree it was a much more interesting race than we have had in a while.
Glad this week the race will be sat night. Now lets hope no more rain delays

It was a really exciting race from start to finish. I think it really sucks that Jeff got crashed out of the race....again, but that's just the breaks.

I think that he probably was kind of pissed off at Jimmie, but he obviously wasn't super big time fighting mad at him. (Kinda hard to get too mad at the driver of a car you own when he's on his way to his 5th championship and making you lots of money.)

So anyway, that was one heck of a race. One of the most exciting I've seen in quite some time. So even though my favorite driver got into a wreck, at least it wasn't as boring as some of the races have been over the last couple of seasons.

There was much rejoicing!

This just in..... from Fox sports posted about 12:15pm

Four-time defending NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson took the blame for making a mistake that ultimately led to teammate Jeff Gordon's wreck at Talladega Superspeedway.

Johnson said he was trying to slide in front of Gordon late in Sunday's race so the two Hendrick Motorsports drivers could draft together toward the front. But, he said Gordon was coming too fast. Johnson's move instead had the effect of a block, and Gordon was forced off the apron in a defensive move.

His momentum gone, Gordon slid back in traffic and was caught moments later in a multi-car crash.

"I misjudged the closing rate," Johnson told The Associated Press. "We all make mistakes, I am no different.
"Certainly, that was my fault. I made the mistake there."
Johnson was involved in his own accident later and finished 31st. Johnson had already left the track when Gordon, also a four-time series champion, talked of his frustration with his teammate.
"I would have stuck around if I knew what was waiting for me," Johnson said in a phone interview with the AP.

Asked if Gordon might be frustrated about getting beat by Johnson, the champion took a long pause before answering.

"There's no more than if it was someone else winning and running up front. I just don't think so," he said. "Yes, he's competitive, and yes we've raced hard over the years. But he's going to have that bulls-eye on whoever it is winning. Let's just say it was (Greg Biffle) winning all the time. He'd be frustrated with him.

"But I think Jeff is just frustrated that it was Texas to Talladega. He was in a wreck, and nobody is ever happy about that."

I agree JJ sounded like he usually does saying it was somebody elses fault.

I thought JJ was a little immature about what he said but that's racing. I am just happy that Dale Jr. did well GO 88!

Yeah, it takes alot to get Jeff mad, but lookout when he does. Besides, is it really wise to make a feud with the driver of a car you OWN?

The wife and I were yelling for JJ to wreck out. Seemed like it was slow motion.
I think part of the 24/48 'fued' is staged. Even tho Jeffy acted like and said he was 'pissed' I have seen him mad before and this wasn't anything like that.
We could have had any of 6 different winners in that last 8 laps.

Oh it was so nice to see a different driver winning yesterday
Way to go Harvick. He is not one of my favorite drivers but so happy someone different won. Jr did pretty good again this week. Wow it seems like Jeff is the one having the bad luck lately
