I'm bummed that everything was cancelled/postponed today too... I'm road trippin' tomorrow & Monday (gotta go enroll my son @ K-State)... so I'm gonna have to "dvr" the race no matter when it's on!

I sure hope that the severe weather stays away down there... I was @ KS Speedway last year when tornados came through... a very scary situation!!!

I do, too. Having races rained out gets kind of old, though of course I know that it's not anyone's fault. But I really, really hope that they can run the race tomorrow when I don't have to go to work and rush home to try to catch the end of the race on TV.

There was much rejoicing!

Well the nationwide race was postponed and they say the weather should be good for tomorrow and both races will be run. Oh I sure hope so. I do look forward to the races on sunday.

I'm not sure it's the case that most of the money and technology are being used on Johnson's team. As much as I hate to admit it, a part of it is just that he's a damn good driver and has had really good luck. I really wish that Jeff could get in on some of that luck, but it seems like he's used all of his up already. Guess we'll just have to see how well Kahne does when he becomes a teammate next year....

(Oh, and I'm with Shirley in hoping not to see rain this week. I can't possibly watch a race that has to be run on Monday because of my work schedule and I really like to see the races live.)

Yes, it would be nice to see Jr Win. Or Mark Martin. Seems like all that promise of Hendrick technology and $$$ is being spent on one driver on the team.

Looking forward to the race this sunday. Prayers for no rain. I want to see the race on sunday while I can relax and enjoy it. Hope we do have a different winner this week. Hoping also that Jr can lead some laps and do really good. Heck a win would be awesome.

Yeah, the races get a bit boring sometimes when they're just totally dominated by Jimmie Johnson and you know from about lap 20 on that he's going to win the race. When I went to sleep on Monday I was quite certain that he was going to win again, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised when I found out who really did win. I like Hamlin a lot, though of course I'll always like Jeff Gordon more. It was good to see that Hamlin had gotten the win since Jeff wasn't able to win due to that horrible accident.

Vali - I know what you mean about the "dominating team" thing. I'm a JG fan through & through, and I'm getting really frustrated w/ all the wins by JJ. However, every time I complain about it, I remind myself that about 5 yrs ago, everyone was saying the same thing about #24.

Still, hopin' that the wins start gettin' spread around a bit more!

I wish I could have seen the race. I would have loved to see Jr. leading some laps.

The fox commentators were talking about him making that statement. It's ironic since he's not only a member of the Hendrick TEAM but also a part owner of the specific car he's whining about.

I was at work when the race was run, so obviously I did not get to see it at the time it was run. I caught most of the 2nd half of it on Speed when I should have been going to bed and I stayed up to watch it. (Really paid for it when I had to get up at 2:30 this morning, but oh well.) I thought it was a great race, pretty darn exciting. But after "The Big One" I decided to go to sleep. I figured I'd get online today and find that Jimmie had won, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he had not.

Did anyone hear what Jeff Gordon told some interviewer last week about not liking that the sport is being so thoroughly dominated by one team? (I didn't hear it, just heard that it was said. That's why I'm asking. I'd like to know exactly what he said.) When whichever announcer talked about it I was wondering if the way he feels about it right now shows him how other drivers must have felt back in the days when he was winning 10+ races every year and winning the championship 3 out of 4 years. I agree with what he seems to have said, but I just wonder if he ever stops to turn it around and think about what other drivers must have said about him back then.

Anyway, it was a great race....or at least the part I saw was.

Yeah, I was bummed about the wreck at the end. Not sure what happened but I was proud of Smoke. I was hoping Jr would get it together at the end and pull through but Denny did a great job. Just happy I guess to NOT see Jimmy standing the winner's circle. I'm getting real tired of the smug phonecalls from my cousin over Jimmy. LOL

Yeah, Hamlin's doing good. I was hoping Jr would do it this week, too. It sure looked like he might for a while. The wreck was pretty bad. Didn't get to see every minute, because I was babysitting. She does love NASCAR, but she has the attention span of a 2 yr old!

Some race today. Glad Hamlin won. Jr was doing so good I was hoping he would win or have a top 5 finish.

That wreck close to the end was terrible. Sure whipped out Jeff's car and a lot of others
