Angie, some of the closer campgrounds have water and sewer trucks that roll through (additional cost of course). Yes I suggest staying until Sunday esp with the size your rig. Most of those closer ones you won't get out of until sometime Sunday because of how tight they park them. I know at Lakeshore when you want out you can pull straight out. They only have 32 sites so it's a nice little but spacious place.
We always stay until Monday in case Saturday gets rained out.
This year we are going up the weekend before both races so we can spend time on the lake and of course there will be shopping involved I'm sure.
Whahtever you do get your reservations now, I saw a lot of the places close to the track have waiting lists.
Hope to see you at Bristol.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Actually we were hoping to get something closer to the track. We have a quiet generator, so hookups are not really much of an issue. Of coarse, we'll have to get water somewhere but I'm sure we can fill up on that at the track - at least, they have water trucks at MIS, so I guess I'm just assuming that they have them at Bristol?

However, maybe it would be easier to get out on Sunday if we were further away? I really don't know how much of a headache that will be. But, we won't leave until Sunday morning. Maybe being further away from the track is a good thing?

I will certainly keep your suggestion in mind and let you know if we end up there. Thanks!!

Hi Angie, check out Lakeshore RV Park, 817 Buffalo Road, Blountville, TN 37617, 423.323.3506
They don't have much for a website (yet)
It's where the wife and I stay with our motorhome. We go for a full week for Spring and Fall races.
Full hookups, quiet and really nice people. 30'X50' sites. Lake access.
It's about 5 miles from the track but they run a shuttle for the Cup races. Most of the campgrounds that are closer to the track double or triple up on the sites and a lot of them have no hook ups.
Tell Irma that Rich sent you.
Let me know if you are staying there, always nice to meet fellow Sparkers

Hi all

I'm wondering if any of you have camped at Bristol. DH and I want to go to the August race and take our camper. It's a 36' fifth wheel so we need a fairly flat spot. The Bristol owend campgrounds are all about a mile away from the track, but they said that their lots are flat and they have some available right now.

So, has anyone camped at any of the other campgrounds? What are the advantages/disadvantages? Is there anything besides flat sites that I need to consider?

We are on the waiting list for tickets, but are planning on just buying them off e-bay before going south (from Michigan). We have at least 2 other couples that will be going with us.

Any comments or suggestions to any who have been there and done that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!

Angie
