I eat the old fashioned kind, per the box directions. I like them with a bit of stevia, butter, and a splash of milk. (It was sugar growing up, but no more...)
Steel cut ones are ok, some times I make a big batch of them and keep them ready to go in the fridge for my beau, but I won't eat them reheated.

Man sacrifices his health in order to make money.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;

The result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.

I have learned to like oatmeal, it does help with the cholesterol lowering.

I use the Old Fashioned/steel cut type, measure 1/2 cup & cook with 1/2 cup milk in microwave for 3 minutes, stirring 1/2 way in between. I either had some raisins & almonds or 1 tsp Peanut butter.

I hate stiff oatmeal, so I always cook it 2 and a half cups water to 1 cup oats. But is does spike my sugars no matter what, so limit my consumption to very rarely....

Do you eat oatmeal (also called porridge) ?

If so, how do you measure the oats, by weight or by cup? Do you cook them 1:1 ratio or 2:1?

Believe it or not, this WILL make a difference to your food counts.....A stiff or thick oatmeal will have more of the actual oats in that half cup serving, while a thinner oatmeal will have more water as part of the serving.....

How do you prepare it?
