Glad you're all fixed up! And it didn't cost you anything!

I don't want to do Windows 8 either. I love Windows 7

My BIL came over on Saturday and worked on my computer. Turns out there was over 6000 items in the registry that had to be deleted. He also was able to delete some old programs that I did not want and never used, get rid of some background programs, etc., etc. ....., all things that were slowing it down to reverse..... Add to that a mouse that quit working and voila, frustration central.

I have Windows 7 and really did not want to have to go up to Windows 8. I have heard it is not really backwards compatible so I would have probably had to buy all new software as well, not cheap at all! And I have heard that a lot of people have had a lot of problems with 8......

Luckily, it seems to be working quite well now. emoticon

Hey!
I'm doing pretty well. Ty. Well it has finally started to warm up a little bit up here. I must say, a lot warmer than 40 to 60 below zero!!! I'm so over the winter! lol The extreme cold weather we had took a toll on my Truck. We had to replace the thermostat, Water pump, and then a day later as we're driving back from town, my blower motor for the heater went out. So It was miserable here for about a week or so. Other than that, everything is alright. My diabetes well, I'll talk about that in my thread.
I hope all is well for you. Talk soon my friend,
Bobbi

Linda!
I'm just now getting back into the swing of things myself. My laptop went out on me completely. It was horrible.

Just so you know, in case you're unaware... If your computer you are going to take in and get fixed has Windows XP on it, Microsoft will no longer be supporting it as of April 2014. Which means there will no longer be updates and so forth for it, which can put your computer at risk.

Hearing that news, I made the decision to upgrade my Laptop. I didn't go brand new, but I did get a really nice used Laptop with Windows 7 on it. It cost me $200 but well worth it. I would look into craigslist or on facebook look in your local area for buying and selling.

I wish you all the best and hope it all works out for ya!

Good luck!

I would consider buying a new computer if your old one is more than two years old. Electronics are not made to last anymore and repairing it may cost as much as or more than just buying a new one. Laptops can be had for less than $400 now, and desktops for even less. At least check out prices before you submit to an expensive repair.

I am still having some major computer problems. I think I almost have enough saved to take it in to get it looked at..... I hope .... I almost wish I could afford a new one.....

It may take another week or so before I can get it in to a technician so please be patient with me..... I will be back as soon as I can....

In the meantime, I hope everyone had a great holiday and surviving the cold weather......

BEST WISES TO ALL
