Does your daughter like to help in the kitchen? I highly recommend a cookbook for little ones (with a little help from Mom, of course) called "Pretend Soup". It's got easy vegetarian recipes that can be followed either by text instructions or pictures. Perfect for pre-schoolers and up. My girls used to enjoy making things from it.

Oh -- here! You can check it out (I love links!)

Hi and Welcome, KWALKER007
Your young daughter is wise beyond her years. It's wonderful you are doing this as a family.
You will find much support here. This is an awesome site and a great team.
I do recommend you set up a public Spark Page so we can leave positive feedback and Spark Goodies. Plus, it's easier to talk with you directly when needed.
Best wishes for your journey.

That's awesome!
Congratulations.
I suggest in your starting stages buying a good vegetarian cookbook. It's SO much easier when you still eat yummy foods. If you feel like you are suffering to do it-it will be much harder to stick to. Go by the bookstore and read through a few recipes, find one that has foods that sound yummy to you.

I also read The China Study-and it was very helpful in making my resolve strong.

Good luck, stay strong and welcome to the team!

Love as thou wilt my friend!

KWALK-
Welcome to the team and thanks for sharing your story. So many parents try to force their kids to eat meat or wouldn't change their own diets to accommodate them. Kudos to you!

I've only just started trying a vegetarian lifestyle. The reason is because of my daughter. She is 5 yrs. old and she IS a picky eater, but the moment she figured out what meat was (I don't think she was even 3 yet), she would have nothing to do with it. Other foods she might not want to eat because she didn't like how they looked or tasted, but meat always got the same response, "I don't eat animals!" She has stuck with it for almost 3 yrs, and I feel like I have to pay attention. If her untainted moral compass is that strong and sure, I thought I better have a second look at mine! I'm not always finding it easy, but my husband is doing vegetarian now too, and I figure as a family, I'm sure we will find our way.
