2015 is the year that I want to stop recovering and start living again!

Aug. 9th, I will start the Ideal Protocol diet. This is a high protein diet where you can lose weight in a healthy way. I hope to have more energy and feel good for a change, and lose weight too!

emoticon And good luck. Let us know how it goes. I'm pulling for you. I've never been a runner, but I used to be able to walk all day and then some. Maybe I will walk a 5K in the near future.

I was just offered free training for a 5k in October through the Triumph Fitness Foundation! They have helped so much in getting my strength back after chemo and radiation. they offer a free fitness program for people who have just finished treatment, and then they let me attend the 5k training a few months ago, and now a new one! The training program really gets me motivated so I accepted the offer and can't wait for it to start again in August!

All ready my motivation is kicked up. Thank you. It is always helpful to know that I am not alone in trying to face my "demons" small as they may be on the great scale of life. It is always a "one day at a time" and "fall down seven times, get up eight" situation. Let's keep on truckin'.

Glad you are both back! I haven't left since I started but I quit tracking months ago. every now and then I get motivated again and start tracking, and start doing well, but then I don't know what happens...it comes and goes:)

I too am returning to Sparkpeople. I love the support, the tracking, and the articles. We can make this the final time we start over. As the saying goes " If you want to quit having to start over, stop stopping"

I have returned to SparkPeople because I have enjoyed it and it worked-when I put in the required motivational umph. My motivation tends to come and go. At the moment I am hoping that THIS time things will really stick and that in a year I will still be here and be living a healthy life at a good weight.

I keep trying to "like" exercising. So far my recumbant bicycle and Total Gym are the two pieces of equipment I keep returning to. Walking used to be enjoyable, but frankly, my stamina is not what it should be anymore so I want that to be upped as well as my overall strength (67 years old with a sedentary job) and loss of at least 60 pounds total.

I'm setting my weight loss goals at a very modest level. I want to see some achievement and I'm hoping that baby steps will work.

I love all the resources here at SparkPeople and the people are great as well.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life-I'm going to make it a good one.
