They are a great organization! I have been a part of the Glass Slipper for about 7 years now and my best friend is the founder of it. It is really taking off since they started working with young girls from group homes and foster care:)
My computer had been so messed up lately, I could barely get on here. I hope it is fixed now:)

I am not really expecting to see rain, but I am looking forward to the cooler temps.

You will do better today! Don't let the momentary setbacks stop you from moving forward.

I see your link to The Glass Slipper. I believe someone from your group came and spoke at my church a year or so ago. That is a great organization!

I'm off to my dr. appt. then to work, it's so nice having a morning at home during the week. I could get used to this! LOL

Supposedly....it may rain tomorrow! I don't really believe it, but it's nice to think about:)
How is everyone doing? I have been doing better about not eating out for lunch at work then I blew it yesterday and had Panda Express, and Mc Donalds for breakfast! I hope to do better today!

Hi Mia :)

I am definitely making use of the nutrition and exercise trackers. It's a huge help seeing what I'm eating and helps keep me in line.

Exercise during the middle part of the day into the evening is so hard to do when it gets hot. I've solved some of that problem by getting to work 45 minutes early, eating my breakfast and then taking a 15 minute walk. If I can, I also walk during my morning break. In the evenings I go to a park near my house and walk for about 30-40 minutes.

I wish I could afford a membership at Cal Fit. I joined Planet Fitness a few months ago and make use of the treadmills and the 30 minute circuit when I go there. I also indulge in their massage chairs after exercising.

I will keep on sparking for sure!

WONDERFUL THAT YOU ARE WORKING TOGETHER TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS.
Spark suggests we use the food and the exercise trackers.
Today, for instance, I have taken two water aerobics classes at California Fitness but other pools have water classes.
It is hot to walk and it is only 91, but when it cools down later I will walk till I get to 10,000 steps I use a fit bit.
It is because I chose to eat quite a bit more than I should have and must work out the deficit.

Hi Daisy! Welcome to the group! I'm sure you're going to do awesome in your journey! I'm the same age as you and I myself was on a good streak and was soooo close to getting under 200 then I relapsed.

I would love to have someone to tag team with for encouragement!

Hi all, I'm 48 years old and have just been officially diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. As you can guess, this is bringing some unique challenges into my life, but I am ready for them :)

I currently weigh about 221lbs (I didn't weigh myself this morning) and my initial goal is to get below 200, then to 180 and then to 160. It's easier to think about this in smaller measurements, that way I don't get overwhelmed. Once I reach 160 I'll evaluate things again and see if I want/need to lose more.

I've been overweight most of my adult life - my highest was 290 - and over the past 10 years I've made lifestyle changes that have resulted in the slow loss of 70lbs. When it seems to be impossible to get to 200, I look at where I used to be and am very encouraged.

I've chosen to follow the Paleo diet plan which seems to work best with my blood sugar levels right now. It's not a difficult way of life for me, thankfully :) I just need to be disciplined about planning my meals and logging my food, which is why I joined SparkPeople.

I'm looking forward to being here and getting to know people :)

Oh, and if you're in Sacramento and you see a green Kia Soul with eyelashes, that's me!
