Anyways, a few days in and finally I did add what I ate to the Nutrition Tracker last night......step by step and day by day. Today I vow to make sure I add in more fruits and veggies!!

Hello, I am Sherri, single mom to 3 kids, ages 8, 10 and 16. I have had successes in the past with weight loss through Weight Watchers and through Curves, however, they didn't stick ultimately. When I went through my divorce starting a few years ago, it's when things slowly started to go downhill emotionally and started just not caring what I was putting in my mouth anymore you know. I consider myself a true Emotional Eater for sure. I am also probably my own worst enemy when it comes to what my body looks like. Others will tell me that I look fine and to not worry or "you don't need to lose, you look great". I know for sure that I do, just haven't had the oomph, the needed last push to do so. I thought it came back at the end of December 2009 when I actually found myself purchasing a pair of pants in a size 16 (hadn't worn that size since early 2000), told myself no more. That didn't last. I have made some minor attempts to begin losing but they didn't stick. Was on caloriecount.com and well, here I am now telling you my story.

One of things I struggle with is my daily chronic back and leg pain and have been doing so since the fall of 2005, 4 1/2 years now. I am only 36 and sometimes because of the pain, it just takes me for an emotional ride like you can't believe. I did already make an attempt on here on the 8th (before that in November 2009) and then I had a bad flare-up that really threw me for a loop where I couldn't physically even do anything to do swelling in my ankles and feet. Was pretty painful.

Here I am again, I feel like my motivation is almost there, I know I don't want to reach that dreaded 200 mark for myself, the higher it gets, the harder it will be for me I fear to lose the weight. I also worry the higher the weight the worse my pain will be too. I really do want to lose the weight and have a way that will be a way I can indefinitely keep it off, have the tools I need to fall back on down the road after I made my goal. At this point it won't bother me at all how long the journey takes, just that I will make it there. I suppose the only thing that has hurt is that I can't push the exercise envelope yet. I have to start out very simple in fact due to my pain problems. Having sciatic pain running down to my right foot makes it interesting at times to say the least!! I do have the Nintendo Wii and own the Wii Fit Plus which I did use sporadically in January and it will tell me that it's been about 3 weeks since I was last on it.

I haven't posted on this site before. I know that this is a strong community of supportive folks all trying to do the same thing losing and maintaining and also seeking the support and comaraderie that I do too. So that's most of my story for now. I will get on the scale in a little while and enter how much and change my start date for the last time. I want for this to be a new beginning for me, I am doing this for me and ultimately for my kids. I want to be healthier and ultimately down the road, in better shape than I am in now. Thanks very much for reading my post and I welcome any advice or stories that you would like to share about your journey here on Sparkpeople as well. Have a great day!
