If they have a menu and nutritional info online, take a look at those to try and make a healthy decision. Then when you get to the restaurant, don't even grab a menu as it's way easier to make an impulsive choice once you see and smell the foods. If you aren't able to pre-plan, look around on this site as there are many articles designed to help you choose the healthier options. Here's one:

Hey all!

I'm Jill, and I recently had a baby (5 months ago). He's starting to eat solids, so I figure its time to start the weight loss journey. So far, I've lost 4 pounds in one week. I want to stay on track, but my husband and I are going out to dinner for the first time since the baby was born. We are going to Caballo Blanco, a typical mexican restaurant, and I want to stay as close to healthy as possible! Any advice on what to order?
