While you're rehabbing an injury, I would learn to love the pool. You have decide what you like more being 20 pounds lighter or continually gaining weight. A lot of people don't like exercise. I think your mind can control your attitude. You can change your attitude. Concentrate on how you feel when you're done exercising, accomplished, thinner, proud of yourself. When you don't exercise, you're a failure, depressed etc. the list goes on.

Also, there has to be some strength training you can do. You get the most bang for your buck pushing around some weights. If you can afford it, I would hire a physical therapist who can help you workout around your injuries. They can design a plan in one to two sessions. Check back in once a month or once every two to three months to shake things up.

Don't be negative. It takes you down a nasty spiral. Don't think of what you don't like, but think of how you like the way you feel. You may have to do things that aren't fun to work through this injury or around the injury. It can be done.

Your food is going to have to be spot on. No processed junk, whole foods.

Welcome! And hope we can help out.

I don't care for exercise either except my daily walks. I enjoy those. I read somewhere that if you don't look forward to doing it, find something else. I'm that way with my exercise ball. I just don't like it. I'm going to try an aerobic video from this site. For Xmas, I'm going to ask for a Wii as I hear they have awesome workout DVDs.

Hope to see you on the board again.

Dara

I am so glad that you are posting on the threads. Welcome to the team. Maybe we can grab you from the slippery slope and pull you to safety. ?????

I hope your knee is better, but what is going on with your foot? Are you still drinking your water and eating healthy ?

Hi - I have been reading the SparkPeople daily emails for about a year. Love them. I lost 90 pounds about two years ago and in the last year have gained back 20. I need to lose 30 and maintain. While losing the 90 I was pretty active and then damaged my knee and now also have something weird going on with the top of my foot. I had gone from water aerobics to boot camp. Anyway the exercise has dropped off and the things that I can don't seem to excite me much. Kind of lost my motivation.....Slipper slope.
