Congratulations on returning to Austria. I'm half Austrian descent because both of my grandparents on one side were Austrian.

I've managed to squeak 15 pounds off since January, but with my schedule I'm finding I can work out 3x/week. I am finding with workload increasing I am starting to get more cravings which I am trying to put off but having difficults. I have been having a little extra on the snacks.

Just keep working out as much as you can and eat as well as you can and the rest will take care of itself. You've been doing great. Midterms will come and go. Maybe I ought to heed my own advice as well.

I know a PhD program has got to be tough. I can only imagine. I'm going for a Masters in Education in TESOL and I am finding it difficult enough and I have to take all the State Certification exams. Just hang in there. I think the continued exercise will only make it better for you.

Good luck and good luck with your move back to Austria, Betsy.

Hi, there - way to go with your Jan/Feb workout and weight loss! Hang in there for midterms. I know it's hard (speaking from my highest weight ever!) but Spark is a great tool and one I plan to start using regularly later this week. I am a PhD student, too (3rd year) and am moving back to Vienna, Austria (my home and husband are there!) from Massachusetts, where I drove everywhere, didn't workout nearly enough, and gained about 15lbs. I have about 30lbs to lose, but will be happy with 20. I arrive back in Vienna Tuesday afternoon and plan to be a regular on Spark thereafter...hope to see you around!

Betsy

Hello,

I'm a PHD student in my second semester. At least 2 more years before I actually get my Doctorate. I have been in and out of school since I started my Bachelor's degree in 2001. Each year in school only helped me add more stress in my life, and a little more weight to my 5'5" frame. I joined SP on 19th January 2010 and have lost about 17 pounds since. I have worked out everyday for the last 41 days and have managed to stay within my calorie range for the most part since I joined SP. However, with midterms coming up, my stress levels have gone off the roof and fear that I will not have enough time to workout and will fall back to my bad eating habits :-(.

But I have made this commitment and I'm going to try my best to stick to it.. Wish me luck!!!
