Thanks, Joyce, you've given me quite the inspiration!

Wow, that sounds like quite a project! Very intriguing! I'm Joyce and I'm studying to get a Masters in Education in TESOL to teach ESL. You do have a crazy schedule. Last semester, I let myself eat everything and anything and I really paid the price for it -- psychologically and physically. Making the time would have been better. I make the time now. Find a way even in small steps.

I work out only 3x a week and there is absolutely no pressure to do more than that. I also never work out too strenuously as to put a stressor on the rest of my work load. I get up earlier to do it and do it before anything else. I track my foods and stay away from trigger foods (cake, pizza and Stacy's Pita Chips) because I can't eat a little of them and they make me crazy. When I don't have time to cook, I eat an Amy's meal or I've learned to cook with healthy sauces out of the jar. There are very quick solutions to things.

Before I started eating healthier and living a healthier lifestyle I felt awful and the bad eating and lack of exercise were draining the life out of me! Now, it's much easier to stick to a schedule and my thinking is clear. I actually find I get more done because I have more energy.

I hope I answered some of your questions. Find a way. You will be glad later. I wish you lots of luck.

Hello everyone!

My name's Sarah and I'm an MSc in Plant Pathology. I currently work 10-16 hours a day trying to figure out how the bacterium Enterobacter cloacae infects and causes postharvest disease in onions. I am doing both greenhouse and molecular studies, as well as SEM and fluorescence microscopy, to discern the interaction (I have a committee meeting on Thursday, so in a way, I'm kind of prepping for that with this post).

I've been on Spark for about a month, and... uh, I haven't been doing very well. I know that, with enough determination, I can become healthier, but whenever I start in on a healthy exercise regimen, my major advisor yells at me for not doing enough work.

So I guess my intro comes with a question. It's great to be here, and it's nice to meet you all! Besides that, how do you all fit exercise in with work and class and committee meetings and seminars and graduate student meetings and prospective student luncheons and visiting people luncheons?

If you can say that everything is meaningless, you've said all you can say, but personally I want to live life feeling the meaning of every word deeply.
