Maybe a little ironic, yes, but interesting! It must be fun, in a dark way, to understand such things while going through a diet. I feel like over the past week I've had some appetite changes but I wonder how much of it is physical and how much is psychological.

Yeah, I have to get to the gym super early in the morning or I don't get there at all. Writing always makes me want to eat too, lol! Ironically, my dissertation is on how the brain regulates appetite.

Those are lofty but attainable goals I think! The key is to make time between everything else for exercise. I find after a long day of writing it is impossible for me to not just go home, thus I've started early morning exercise. I honestly think it helps with the writing later on! The other thing is to carefully pack a lunch to bring with you to school/library/office that you don't hate and has a snack with it. If I don't do that I end up buying things out that i really shouldn't eat.

What is your Phd in?

Hi! I just finished the first year of my PhD program. I have a year of classes and research left then just writing and whatnot the year after....and then I'm done!

My goals (which I may fine tune this week) are:
7/25/09 - 10 pounds
9/30/09 - 25 pounds
1/15/09 - 50 pounds
4/30/10 - 75 pounds
8/15/10 - 100 pounds
11/30/10 - 120 pounds
12/30/10 - 130 pounds

I'm glad I found a group of grad students going through some of the same challenges I am...on top of trying to lose weight! Good luck to everyone!
