I find that working out is a nice stress reliever from schoolwork. If I *really* need to get something done, I'll bring some reading with me and read while on the treadmill or exercise bike. I then find that when I get home, I'm better able to focus and get back to work!

Glad to have you here! I actually have the reverse problem. Being a "returning" student (read older) I find having a different schedule every day of the week during the semester hard to adapt to. During the summer, I've been working full-time, M-F, 8:30-5:00 so this is when I have the structure. My strategy will be to plan ahead, at least a meal and hopefully a day, so I don't have to make food/exercise decisions on the fly when I can justify poor choices!

Welcome to the Grad Student Group! Everyone is very supportive and have great ideas to keep us motivated. I would definitely agree with the organization part of the school year but I find I have more time to exercise during the summer. I need to find ways to keep working out once the semester starts. Any suggestions would be great.

Hi everyone! I'm a 23 year old grad student living in Cleveland, working on my master's in Social Work. Out of curiosity, does anyone else find it harder to keep on track during the summer than during the school year? I feel like my life is so disorganized in the summer and MUCH more structured during the school year!

Glad to meet all of you! Good luck, we can do it!
