I have watched it a few times, and it has been interesting. One episode, the woman got to close to the fire and burned her but# and it got infected so they had to fly her out to a hospital and she was gone 8 days, but at the end of the 21 days, they made it to the "pick up" and he had lost 35#. It was intense.

I have watched naked and afraid and I think I could do it other than the naked part and my fear of alligators. I can handle snakes and spiders but not alligators. No thank you. I would love to leave the show 21 pounds lighter but I think my blood sugar would somehow bottom out and they would have to call in the medics so I would not last sadly.

Welcome to the team! Good luck with the soda. I am lucky that soda is not an issue with me. I have never had that problem. Mine runs more along the lines of chips and sweets. ha ha! I have been a long time member of spark but I started off slow a year an a half ago and have lost 44 pounds with simple walking. I too have feet issues and they are almost gone now that I am under 200. I still have about 50 left to go but slow and stead wins the race!

Good Luck with your journey!

Majella- I know the show you are referring to. I do not know how they can stand doing all of that stuff naked. I can only imagine the bugs crawling all over them while they sleep! Ugh! It sounds like you have developed a great plan. Good luck to you!

Did I get your attention with this title? There is a TV show called Naked and Afraid and is based on living in the wilderness for 21 days with only one personal item while Naked with one other person. It is crazy addictive cause it is crazy to watch two strangers surviving in the wilderness with absolutely nothing to eat or drink and having to catch hunt and build everything for 21 days. Some of these people go two weeks without eating anything and living on dirty nasty water they get from rivers and watering holes.

I say I am Not Naked and Alone cause well let's face it how many of us can really survive 21 days like that. But even if I am not ready to sign up for this type of show, I have been going thru my own 21 day trial of fitness and diet. I have joined a gym (last week), Worked out 6 out of 7 days both in the gym and hiking (last week) and have reduced my diet coke intake by 67% (last two weeks) Yesterday I even drank at least a half gallon of water and enjoyed it. And although I am still hovering at 235 pounds, I know that I will have to see some weight loss results if I continue to add more positive items to my daily life.

I have given myself until the end of June before I start stressing about not having a job.... So I am looking forward to seeing what the next 21 days has in store for me. I really hope I can lose some inches in my thigh area so both walking and general exercising feels better. I am also hoping my feet issues are reduced if I can lose at least 15 pounds. my goals for the next 21 days is as follows.

Workout 5-6 days a week (with one rest day and one hiking day as a non gym day)
I would like to be able to do 1 orange theory gym class a week (But that feels too high intensity right now - since I am hurting for 2 days afterwards)
Water Intake: 2-3 large water bottles a day (I think my bottle is 24-36 oz) 4 would be an incredible day.
Food: Continue to reduce my carbs to 150 a day to reduce my blood sugar (pre-diabetes diagnosis). use a food journal to figure out wt. loss meals.
Reduce Diet coke: 5 days or more in a row of zero intake.

I think that will be a very good 21 days!
