Hi, my name is Amy. I am 45 and mother to 2 girl scouts, ages 7 & 10. I have been separated for several years, and my divorce should be finalized within 5 months. I am a preschool teacher, currently teaching a 2 year old class, but I am looking for a position where I can be more financially stable.

In 2012, when I left my husband, I wore a size 10/12, but throughout this time I have gained and started menopause, ending up as a size 19/20. I have lost some weight since starting Spark in 2014, but hit a plateau that I haven't been able to break. The legal hassles with my ex have created a lot of anxiety that contributes to my habit of self soothing with food. The stress of finding reliable after school childcare, finances, and my childrens issues with school have also contributed.

I am hoping that I can find a sympathetic ear and some useful tips here from those who have been through it before. Thank you.

I'm 36, single mom to 5, aged 7 - 15. Been divorced 5 years and haven't taken care of myself. I made the last step to rid myself of all things past relationship, got a new car in December! So, now, it's time to focus on me. I wish us both well on our endeavors. emoticon

Hello Moms and Dads!
I just wanted to give you a little background on me and say hello to all of you who know the single parents struggle!

For most of my 20's (I'm 28 now), I weighed a steady 130 lbs. I was pregnant but losing personal weight while gaining baby weight and as soon as baby was out I would be with a flat tummy and right back to my usual weight within the month. I kept telling myself how incredibly lucky I was, and thought that I would never have to worry or work very hard to maintain that.

Three babies later, and the trend continued. That is, until my youngest was around 18 months old and my ex decided to call off our seven year relationship. I don't know what happened in these past 2.5 years but sometime last fall I started to put on weight. Suddenly I'm up to 160 lbs and can't seem to get it off. My goal has always been 120-125 lbs and I haven't changed what I eat too much.

I know what I have to do and how to do it, but I lack the drive to do it!
So here I am, single Mother of three wonderful children (ages 3, 7 and 8) and hoping that this site gives me the accountability and motivation that I need.
