Hi PrincessAmy! I just joined this site last night! I read your post, and I want you to know that I can definitely relate. Just keep this in mind: As a single parent, we are not only Mama, but Daddy too. We do all the things a nurturing, hard working mother does, then we go out and be the bread winner and the protector. It is hard to leave our babies all day while we go out and be Daddy, then come home and be Mama (cook, housekeeper, chauffeur, comforter, etc.). There is the guilt that we should be there all the time. But when our children get a little older, they will see that we are not just Mama, but Super Mama! It's difficult to do, but it is still important to find a way to make time for yourself, whether it's staying up late to check your email, or taking an hour to go out for coffee with a friend. It is the only way to keep your sanity!

My name is Amy. I have been on this plan of attack since 2000. I have been a member of sparkpeople for almost 10 years. emoticon I have lost a couple of hundred pounds. emoticon I just keep moving closer and closer to my goal. emoticon

Now I am a single mother of a 21 month old little boy. emoticon He has given me even motivation to keep on going for my goal. I work full time as well.

I have only been in the Greenville area for a year. I moved from New York. I am involved with a lot of things. Sometimes I would like to think I am Donna Reed. Other times, I feel like the worst mom in the world.

This is me.
