Oh, do I relate!! It is so hard with a little one. Even with a slightly bigger one (mine's 6). I'm trying to remind myself that all that really matters is that I take whatever little steps I can to be healthier. So, if I can put better stuff in my body and try to get to the gym (exercising at home doesn't work really because the only time I get to do it is after he's asleep, which these days can be after 9:30 p.m.!) at least once a week, I'm doing better than I was before I joined this site!

It is really hard to keep all the balls up in the air at the same time. Some days, one or more of them just has to fall.

hi Anne,

I can't say I have inspiring words of wisdom, but just wanted to say thank you for being out there right now. I have a 2 1/2 yr. old son and will be 40 in Dec. ~ 3 days before he turns 3.
I work full time and have a dog, so I can relate. I feel like I was born on Weight Watchers, as my mom started doing it when I was 8 and drug me right along into it. I was also adopted.
Just need something more pragmatic at this point that doesn't make me feel like I'm a bad person if I want to enjoy life sometimes. Exercising is a nightmare, when to do it with a 2 yr. old running around and when he's asleep I'm either exhausted or trying to manage the tornado that has just made it's way through the house or pay a bill or do some laundry, yada yada yada. I'm impressed you get in any time at all myself!

Hi,

I am new to this team and really new to Sparkpeople. I have one child, a son (age 6), who keeps me very busy. I also work full-time and have a house, a dog and a cat. I turn 50 in October. To say that I'm perpetually tired is an understatement!

I decided to join Sparkpeople because I've been feeling so badly about myself after having gained 20 pounds and 2 dress sizes in 2 years! I've been on and off weight watchers for the last 8 years -- gaining and losing the same 25-30 pounds twice. I really need a lifestyle change and hope that Sparkpeople can help me achieve that.

As a single working Mom (single as in I adopted my son following my divorce and am raising him entirely on my own), my biggest challenge with respect to fitness is trying to find the time to fit it in! How do you all do it? So far, I've been fitting it in after my son goes to sleep, just 10-15 minutes a day, hoping that that will motivate me to do more eventually.
