Hello my name is Anna. Yesterday was the 6th year mark that my husband passed away and I know it can be really difficult. My kids are 16, 13 and 10. My only daughter is the youngest. I have found that my parenting has changed drastically since my husband passed away.

Any time you need to talk just drop me a line. We are here to support each other. I know what you mean about the weather. I used to live in Arizona and now I am in Washington state. It is a lot colder here but I do not miss the heat in AZ, right now it would be nice though. I am so sorry that you are not starting your new semester the way you want to.

Although, I am new to the group, I am certainly not new to the single parent thing or to losing weight. I have been a single parent for almost 9 years (ever since my husband passed away). I have one child with special needs and very little support when it comes to childcare. Lately, may DD has been more at home than at school due to the terrible winter weather we are having. New England winters are getting to me..... Honestly, it's so bad I am thinking of moving down south.
Anyway, I am dealing a lot with emotional eating. The stress is holding me back from loosing any weight. If anything, I have put much of my weight on thanks to the stress and my emotional eating. This winter does not motivate me either. It is hard to exercise outside, so I have been indoor a lot.
I also go to school part-time. My spring semester starts tomorrow, except that my DD is home sick. What a way to start a new semester!!!! I am already stressed out and my school did not even start yet :-(

Anyway, I wish each and everyone good luck on reaching your goals. I am so glad to have the support of sparkpeople.
