Hi emoticon RACHAEL312 and emoticon to SparkPeople and the team...Nice to have you with us on the journey to a healthier lifestyle.

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Welcome, Rachael. You've made a good move by reenlisting, so to speak.

As CarolJean mentioned, there are many resources for people with limited mobility in the Spark offerings. There's also Chair Exercise Team which you may want to look at. If it's still as active as it was when I left it years ago, it's a great thing. Beside support and fun, one of the permanent threads includes resource lists of chair exercise videos separate from SP's own materials.

emoticon Rachael I understand the feelings you have been having. I started back with SP a few months ago and working on what I can do and not on what I used to be able to do. I've been very successful here before. I love the support here as I don't have the support home

Here's to a Happy and Healthy New Year emoticon emoticon emoticon

First of all, let me tell you that I know this program works. I've done it successfully before. However, several life changing injuries and surgeries mean that I can't approach taking care of myself the way I used to. I'm no longer able to cardio dance, walk for more than 6 blocks, or play. And I have been grieving that. I have been ANGRY about that. But, I'm also thankful to even be alive..... Today, I've realized I just have to deal with the new me, find ways to get my blood sugars under control, definitely not GAIN weight, and I plan on losing some slowly but surely. I remember that entering things in here helped me realize small accomplishments. And other people celebrated with me. I'm all by myself, and I have to take care of myself. Its no one else's responsibility. But in this community, I remember not feeling so alone. So, I'm back......
