Wow congrats on your weight loss!
Second,
It can't be strenuous if you're only doing 8-20 minutes of exercise. They recommend you try 15-20 minute of walking/exercise but obviously, if that becomes too much, take a break, slow it down, be easy.

I found walking 1.5+ miles to be too much in one go, so we have it broken down to 0.7 miles usually during the day and again later about 9 or 10pm, or just doing the night walk. Two rounds is 1.4 miles, so it works out. The exercises are lazy enough and I do them as I'm up for them, usually takes 5 hours to get the entire hour in.

Sounds like you're doing an awesome job Diamondtear!!! Congratulations on your baby.

I have heard the same thing regarding exercise... not to start anything too strenuous, but exercise is certainly very healthy for mom & baby, and like you mentioned it can really help with blood pressure.

I was told that if you already had an exercise routine, all you had to do was tweak it to make sure it doesn't hurt the baby. There are tons of exercises and yoga videos/stretches one can do to lose weight while pregnant. I was told I could not gain anymore weight. One of my doctors told me I should not be exercising but the other has seen beneficial changes - like my blood pressure dropped noticeably that she made a comment - so I'd told her. I was told to keep it up after I explained a few of the exercises.

They're mostly floor exercises, the warrior 2 poses, floor bridges, wall push ups, side-lying leg raises (and swinging leg forward and back), doing the clams, etc - nothing touching the stomach and if it does, it's barely doing so and only momentary.

They mainly warn people during the first trimester to take it easy but coworkers of mine were saying I could not so much as lift my leg up, even if to the sides of my stomach!

I understand the need to be careful in pregnancy but 40-60 minutes of exercise each day is recommended to ensure weight loss or to maintain weight/health.

Wow! It sounds like you are doing great! I didn't even know it was possible to do all of that while pregnant. I am due in November and people are treating me like I might break if I over exert myself in the slightest - think - carrying the vacuum upstairs! GOOD FOR YOU!!! Keep up the good work and keep us posted! You are doing a great thing for you and baby!!! How exciting!

I have my first ever child to be born in late august and I'm nervous! Unsure how pregnancy would sit with me, I quit my jobs 3 months in (for other reasons, too). I've been measuring, I didn't do anything at first.... March 2014 was the last time I ever measured, and so I did this in march 2015 early, and found I gained 15 inches from that time.... By the 4th of May I'd already upped that number to 27.5 inches.

Ladies and gents, I'm already obese..I was already warned I could not afford weight gain and I've been on and off the weight loss train since 2012. I stopped in march 2014 and I remade my account to start fresh in my trackers and everything, but I kept the original lowest measurements...

Anyway, VERY proud to say I measured yesterday, the start of week 4 of my exercises, and went from 27.5 inches above my lowest ever recorded measurements to being back to only being 17 inches over ^-^ That made me so happy! 10.5 inches lost and it's not even the end of the month!
At the start, I had 77 inches to drop (with pregnancy measurements!), but I'm guessing it's more like 40-50 inches in reality... My hope is to keep up what I'm doing, to drop 10-15 inches every MONTH. I won't be able to drop all of that, but maybe drop 20-30 inches before my boy's born :)

It's hard to keep motivated. The only reason I got this reality call is I have a SON on the way. He's going to be active and if I don't drop my weight, I'm going to have difficulties keeping up with him... I'm not looking for the perfect body, but at least dropping 2/3 of my weight would be lovely, ensuring I'll be able to keep up with him. Plus, looking drop dead sexy in my plain undies would be a plus LOL

Anyway, that's my thing! I have done a lot of research, I've got 64 minutes of exercises in an app (I made the workouts so they won't hurt baby) that break down into 8-20 minute exercises, I walk 0.7miles in 16min45sec and trying to do this once or twice each day, too. The goal is 40-60 minutes a day of exercise, but in a way my body can still handle it =]
