I know this was awhile ago, so what did they have to say when you went to your pre-conception appointment?

NICDEVEN: Don't give up! You've already lost 40 pounds, which is fabulous, please don't discredit what you've done. Commit yourself and your husband to "sticking to it" for 3 weeks and then you'll both get into the rhythm.

Also, don't continue putting off TTC just because of your weight, you can do both.

Good luck!

Jenn

Hi everyone. Right now I'm 33, 5'1" and 345 lbs. My primary physician has given me the go ahead to start trying. I haven't been to the gyno in almost 3 years. The last time I went to a 'women's clinic' (not ob/gyn) they strongly advised me not to get pregnant due to my weight. I have an appointment for an annual check and pre-conception counseling on 7/29 and I'm so scared of what they doctor might say. I've been married for 6 years now and we've been putting off TTC until we lose weight (he's a big guy, too). While I've lost 40 lbs in the last couple years, that's really not even a drop in the bucket. I'm worried about weight vs. age at this point, because I don't really have either going for me. Yesterday I found out my sister in law (hubby's sister) and hubby's neice are pregnant, both due a few weeks apart early next year. While I'm SUPER happy and excited for them, it kind of stings :( Anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
