Hi I'm Vanessa and I am new to the team. I have been on sparkpeople.com since about 2010 but not active the whole time. I have now been continuously active for a year and have made great progress. I have lost 48.2 lbs since last August and it has all been by working out at home using dvd's and an interval timer.
Happy to be a part of the team!

Hi! I am new to sparkpeople. My main exercise is Leslie Sansone dvd's. I just got a fitbit hoping to start getting in 10000 steps a day. I also love to workout with my wii and xbox.

Hi! I joined a while ago, but can't remember if I introduced myself or not! Anyway....I'm trying to make time to get some exercise in the majority of the week. Most of the exercise I do is at home, in the mornings before work, and that's mostly yoga and a quick kettle bell workout.

Anyway...I just wanted to say hi! :)

Hi, My name is Emily. 27, mother of one boy, Wyatt, he's five. I'm recently engaged. I'm back in school to try and get my RN degree. I work two jobs and keep myself busy, busy. Growing up and before I had my son I was thin. I never lost the baby weight and gained some. I weigh more now than i did when i was 9 months pregant.
I don't have the funds for a gym membership, crossfit or anything like that.
I prefer to work out at home, using my bodyweight, or walking outside. I just now started utilizing my work gym but I'll only do that the days I work. Tomorrow I start the Insanity DVD's that a friend gave me.

Hello, my name is Yvette. I am new to this team and I am returning Spark Girl. I have been away from the community. Put in a difficult year and stayed away. Now, I am back, taking it slowly, and am thankful. Could use all of the support and community. I do not want to go on this journey alone. Been there done that!:)

My name is Dana and I live in New Jersey. There are times I choose to work out indoors because of the weather or my social anxiety.

I like the walking workouts the best, use to do Richard Simmons long ago. So I'm looking for some new DVD's.

Good to be here.

2. Drinking 2.2 L of H2O per day
3. Keeping fruit in bowls throughout my house
Lastly, Tracking my food calories with (wow....lots of work there, but gotta do it!) week one of SP Official 'Eat Up, Slim Down' Challenge

Hi THINFITKIND,
This week I planned to workout at least 30 mins daily and stay consistent. Now that the weather is getting warmer I would like to be outdoors more - walking and biking.

1. Being consistent is my problem, I would do really well for the first couple of weeks and after that I get lazy and the next thing I know I missed out on my workout for a whole week! Then I got into a depressed mood and have to start all over again!

2. Food portioning is another problem I have. I want to be able to eat better and wiser and not starve myself in a way that I would overeat later on!

Today I did 30 mins video exercise with Jessica Smith - cardio workout!

If you want to lose more weight, what is your plan? Increased duration of work out time? Increased amount of times per week? Different work outs? or perhaps food moderation? emoticon

My name is Seni and I am a new member. I workout maybe 2-3 times a week for about 30 mins at home and that is it! I am not too keen to workout at the gym either. By joining this team I would be able to challenge myself more and be able to shed more!

Hello everyone, I'm Cherye. I like to exercise at home - I'm not much of a gym person at all. I use a FitBit to go on walks - I avg about 6 miles a day between work and home. I'm really focusing on portion control and making sure I'm not just sitting still.

Hello, I'm Bri (or "Breezy".)
I usually workout at home, following workout DVDs and lifting free weights. I'm happy to find a group of people that have the same habit. Let me know what your favorite workout is, please. I love to shake it up and try new things.

Hi! I'm Katherine. I'm actually really new to working out at home. In the past, I've relied on the gym or walked/jogged outside. But due to some scheduling restraints, I'm going to be working out inside the apartment for now. Last week I tried a few Leslie Sansone videos on YouTube, and I've ordered several other DVDs from the library. I can't wait to learn more from the collective wisdom here. Thanks!

Hello! my name is Lauren. Im new to this team. I have always worked out at home. Ive never gone to a gym, I cant stand working out in front of strangers. It feels as though Im exposing my most vunerable part of me. I breakdown emotionally sometimes during a workout because I am out of my comfort zone and Im changing myself not just physically, so i cant do that in a public place. thats why I work on me in my natural habitat, my home sweet home

Welcome Melanie!

I love working out at home!

I am an at home (and occasionally at my desk) work out kind of girl. I have a commercial treadmill and what I refer to as my "el cheapo" stepper. I also have some dumbbells (2#, 5# and 10#). I keep the 2# ones at work and try to use them as time allows. I use a pedometer and average about 5,000 +/- steps a day.

Hi everyone, I'm Melanie. I workout exclusively at home, I never did enjoy the gym and I already walk - and in the summer, bike ride for transportation so I don't find either enjoyable for deliberate exercise.

At the moment I like Jessica Smith or Leslie Sansone's walking workouts for cardio, and I do body weight and 5 lb dumbbell workouts on alternate days. I just started working out again regularly a couple of weeks ago after months of absence...so I'm taking it slow to start.

Hi, I am new here to this group. I am doing the Brazilian Buttlift and it is a killer but really good!! I like doing my work out at home. I am on day 21 of working out and day 6 of eating right. I am doing baby steps so I don't try to do to much at once and end up failing like I usually do. I know where I mess up at and this time I am doing things right!!

The more I stick to my goals the better I will feel and look!!!

Hi, I'm 54 and from Mississippi and I am starting over here at Sparkpeople.
I have decided to start with the home videos since I abhor cold weather and going to the gym in winter usually makes me sick. Also there is the time factor - with my crazy schedule I can still stick a home workout in somewhere. At least that is the plan.
My challenges are to 1. stick with it, 2. do more aerobics, and 3. eat cleaner.
Small changes....small changes.
Part of my motivation is that I just got some new (for me) Cathe DVDs on sale. I KNOW that working out with that lady will get you fit!
So I want to get my strength, aerobic, and flexibility levels back up so that I can rise to the challenge.
I have lots of videos/DVDs but I just need to DO them. lol
Most of the ones I own are The Firm. They will definitely get you in shape.
I am looking forward to being on these message boards getting encouragement and sharing encouragement with others on this journey.

I Started Insanity today. I tried it before but was so winded I put it aside and did hip hop abs and taebo for a while was planning on giving it another try in January 2014 but for some reason I was drawn to it today. I was so amazed when I actually did all the exercises in the fit test. The last time I tried it I couldn't do those push ups jacks. I feel so accomplished and I'm looking forward to the whole 9 weeks of the program. emoticon

Hello Everyone,
I am Leslie, 42, mother of 3 with a full time job.
Working out at home seems to be the best way to go for me (even though, I am still working on getting into a routine again). I don't fair well with having to go somewhere to workout, I am also a little shy. I went to a women's gym for a while but it got boring after a while, so over time my husband and I have built up the home gym, we have no problem with used and in good shape and I will grab almost any DVD if its on sale or in a yard sale.
I use my elliptical a lot, it is the easiest thing to just jump on and go while catching up with shows and it is the one thing that is kept in the living room in front of the TV (it works best for me there).
I recently organized my workout DVDs and realized I have 52, some of those are sets (Zumba, Hip Hop Abs, etc). So I guess it depends on my mood as to my favorite. I really like the Gold's Gym DVDs they have 3 ten minute workouts on them, each one is circuit including cardio so it is a great 30 minute workout broken down in 3 ten minute workouts and they use different equipment (or none at all if you don't have it) ball, step, bands, kettlebell.
I also have free weights and the all in one weight bench and my husband has the bowflex and we have the total gym. Another good one is the mini trampoline, they have some good DVDs for that also.
I have pretty much anything so being bored in a workout is not even an excuse. I just need to be motivated.
Does anyone use the Spark People Activity Tracker, thinking about getting one, but not sure if it is right for me.
Looking forward to being part of the group!

Hi.. emoticon

I'm Stacy and I live in Dallas, Texas.

I have been married 20 years to my hubby Dave (been a couple for 22 1/2) and we have a son (Cory) that will turn 20 in January. emoticon Wow, time flies!

We also have a precious Pet Daughter, ZuZu.. She's a Mini American Eskimo and will turn 8 in Jan.

Since I turned 40 in May, I'm finding it soooooooo HARD to get these last 20 lbs off!

I started at 197.7 lbs (joined here) and now I'm at 169.2

I'm 5'8 and now in a size 12.

I still have so many problems areas!

My issues are still in my inner thighs, hips and tummy/mid-section..

They are hanging on for dear life! emoticon

I have to switch things up often to stick to a routine.

I have the Firm - Get Fit in 30 dvd's, Biggest Loser with Bob and Dolvett, Prevention Mag dvd's (accelerated walking), Pilates and Richard Simmons.. (Disco Sweat/Tone & Sweat)

As of late, we lived in Jonesboro AR for 3 years for hubby's job and they closed down (just like they did in Dallas; why we moved to AR) and due to the packing and moving I totally got knocked off track and out of my routine!! emoticon

We have been back home in Dallas since the middle of August.

Hubby is still unemployed and looking for work.

(Very Stressful!!)

I started at Cracker Barrel as a Server in AR and transferred to the Mesquite one.

I will be with them 2 years in January. emoticon

Hi all! After getting my food somewhat sorted out the last 5 weeks, I am going to start exercising at home! I look forward to hearing what everyone else is trying and what's working (or not) for everyone! I'm going to try the Jessica Smith YouTube videos starting in the morning. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone. I am the poster child for figuring out how to work out from home because I've always been a little strapped for cash. I scour YouTube for yoga videos and HIIT videos and now have an awesome collection of Spark videos to choose from as well.

I mostly hop on the stationary bike but I'll be moving soon and won't have access to the bike anymore so I'm collecting workouts to do at home, especially for during the winter when it'll be more difficult to step outside for a jog or walk.

Looking forward to getting healthy with all of you.
