Hello rockeritalulu! You can do it! You have all the equipment and music to make that first step possible. Welcome to the group!

Hi Veronica! I don't work out in the gym either because for me I find that my home is more enjoyable. Welcome to the group!

Hi there! I am not new to Spark but new to the team. My name is Veronica and I enjoy working out at home. Time and finances don't allow me to work out at a gym at this time so I rely on my treadmill, free weights, Total Gym and exercise dvds. I also love workouts that I find on Youtube.

I look forward to getting to know you all better.

I try to do exercise with everything I do while washing dishes, blow drying my hair things like that. I try to treat it like my meds or supplements do it as soon as I can.

I am new to this group, but not new to this site. My goal is to lose 15 more pounds. I have already lost 22 so far on this program. My biggest downfall is motivation. I suffer from cabin fever during the school year and just don't feel motivated. Any advice?

Hi! I'm Cheryl and have been with SP since May. I work at home and work out at home. My job is very sedentary and it shows. The number on the scale doesn't accurately portray what horrible shape I'm really in (but my pic and BF% do and I'm 5'5" if that tells you anything).

Currently, I'm doing Turbo Jam and just got a FitBit which is a miracle gadget! Next month I'll be starting Les Mills Pump. And I'm pumped!

Hi My name is Lora.

I tell you things are looking up. Need some forms from my insurance then I can get the ticket from the accident lowered. I have acupuncture and massage therapy booked next week plus some other appts for my back. I have my car (so good). And once I get forms from doctor I can send them to VA then I can get my appt with the surgeon.
I have not dropped any weight but trying, some jeans not fitting but I am not going to freak out.
We are going to Whiteface so my wonderful boyfriend can ski and I am going to take a lesson and my camera! I need to download the card then I will be ready with a fresh battery and an empty card!
We are getting unpacked into the new house so all is great!

No arthritis isn't fun at all....I also have restless leg syndrome on top of that and at times my legs burn so bad....75 percent of my workout is walking...then I do a lot of dvds mostly the dancing ones because they are so much fun although I look pretty dorky doing it....I have to watch the moves though because if I try and go to fast it can be disasterous on my knees...Hips lets not talk hips....I feel like I'm 80 years old some days...but don't need a new hip yet....so I keep moving....I also like the pool on days when I don't feel like walking then it's the pool...it helps a lot and I'm learning to love the water....

Hi Abrandnewme and thanks for the welcome. emoticon

I have osteo in my hands, wrists, spine and hips.. my hips are good and I had one replaced 2 years ago and it gave me back my mobility. I had rapid onset osteo in my right hip and was so surprised that I had it, let alone needed a new hip!!!

Thank goodness my knees are pretty good. They did hurt when I started cycling and finally they seem to have gotten stronger as they no longer bother me much and if they do, I ease back on the tension and make the ride a little easier. I liked road biking so much that I don't want my knees to go!! I find biking easier on all my joints than walking also. I do walk daily and sometimes a slow walk, others fast..depending on my energy levels and as you know, with arthritis the energy levels seem to go hand in hand with pain levels.

I also have fibromyalgia and have managed that since around the age of 35 and I'm 57 now so have learned what works for me and yoga is one of the forms of exercise that I like as it stretches out the sore muscles. I do have to modify alot of the movements because of my wrist though.. I put a brace on it and that helps when exercising.

I am determined to keep my pain levels down with rest and exercise as the meds are hard on the body long term, but I do keep a supply of celebrex on hand and need it more in the summer months when there is more outside work to deal with like gardening. This time of the year I do pretty good with plain old tylenol and an advil no and then.

What sort of exercise can you do with your bad knees? Arthritis sure isn't fun, but it's better than some of the horrid illness out there!!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Hello and welcome Thomasina to the team glad to have you join us....I also suffer from 2 types of arthritis and find it most difficult in my knees therefore bikes and I don't get along...while I work out at home I also go to the gym and will pass the bikes and keep going because of my knees....where do you have the most problems with your arthritis is it in the knees also...if so how it that going with the bike riding....I'm to scared to try it....I must admit...maybe tomorrow when I go to the gym I will try for a few minutes to see if I can do it...

Hi, this looks like a good team for me.

I exercise at home with various yoga dvd's and have a stationary bike. I walk everyday with my dogs also, some slow walks, others fast depending on my energy level for the day and with 2 forms of arthritis, my energy levels vary greatly from one day to the next.

I took up road biking last August and found out just how out of shape I was cardio wise, so bought a stationary bike for the winter and I really enjoy it. I use it every other day for now and that seems to work for me.

I look forward to being a part of the team..

Hi All,

I'm just back from vacation and ready to take weight loss seriously. I'm very much stuck in an exercise rut but have started to make some small changes that I am excited about- like walking to and from work whenever possible (2 hours and almost 6 miles when I do this!). Eating healthy is much trickier for me. I. Love. Food. I know HOW to eat better, I just never seem to CHOOSE to eat better. Hopefully with my boyfriend on board too, it will be easier to be held accountable.

Hello everyone! I am Rhia. I joined SP just last August 21, 2012. I met my goal of loosing 10 lbs in a month time. Now, I am maintaining my weight and working for my abs and do some weight training to firm my muscles. I mostly doing my exercises 2 to 3 times a week at home and once a week at gym. My goal now is to maintain good health for myself and for my family. I hope to see inspiring and motivating ideas from this group. God bless us all.

I'm Penny, new to the team, but not SparkPeople. I'm happy to have found an active team:)

2012 wasn't a good year for me, and I'll be making many small changes in the upcoming year. I may need a kick in the pants to get moving now and then, but don't worry, I will ask for it:)
