emoticon Hello! I'm not really a newbie. I've been a member for a long time now, but I've been away from SP for a while, so I'm just putting a hand in the air waving to everyone! How's everyone doing? Are we all still working out at home and loving it? I like dvds, elliptical, treadmill, and now that the snow has FINALLY left, hopefully I can get out on the trail later this summer for a little outside jogging!

Hey Allison - we're practically fitness twins! I'm lucky enough to have lake nearby where I can kayak in the summer. Fitness Blender videos are great, too. Welcome!!

Hi, I'm Allison ! I work out at home. Used to belong to the YMCA or other gyms. Never followed thru, though. So we purchased equipment to use at home - and I do use it! My faves are the elliptical and treadmill.

I also do strength training at home - TRX, home gym, dumbbells, floor / core work.

And, I do cardio outside when it's warmer - Run, Bike, Hike, Walk.

Oops - almost forgot - I do some Leslie Sansone Walk Vids sometimes, too.

Hi, I am new to the team and coming back to SP after several years. I haven't worked out much over the past year, but have started consistent work outs this week. I have several videos that I like to use, I walk on the treadmill in my garage, and am looking at some yoga apps.

Hi, just joined this team today, have been on this site for a number of years-like so many others I'm starting again after a long absence. I enjoy workouts from fitness blender and Leslie Sansone walking workouts, any suggestions for similar and free routines to keep things fresh?

Hi! My name is Lindsay, and I'm from Saint Paul, MN.

I have dealt with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia symptoms for many years, which resulted in me being practically couch-bound last fall. I finally figured out that a lot of my trouble was from a spine mis-alignment as a result of a car accident six years ago - and got myself put back together!

However... two+ months on the couch did NOT do my body any favors. I'm by far the heaviest I've ever been, and I can't stand it any more! Now that I'm finally feeling well enough to start moving, I'm here to see results with both the fitness and food trackers. I used to be on Spark like ten years ago, and got the results I needed then. Nothing else has worked as well as this, so I'm back! I'm excited to watch that number DROP on the scale and to regain my confidence and sense of self.

Hi everyone! I will be working from home because as we all know. The gym and fitness classes will be packed until about the end of February! Lol! I used to be one of those folks who ran to the gym on January 2nd and stopped going by the end of the month. I normally use Leslie S Walking at home, but I have a collection of work out dvds (mainly beachbody). I look forward to being in this group.

Welcome, Tulipvic!
Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds requires no equipment and very little space.
Jessica Smith has many, many no-equipment videos for cardio and for strength.
Fitnessblender.com has all kinds of bodyweight workouts. Don't let some of the more advance workouts scare you off. Modify as necessary; I do!
All of these have 15-30 minute workouts as well as longer ones, so there will be something for whatever your day allows.
Have fun!

Welcome to you Tammy! I like a lot of variety, too, and am not ashamed to modify the moves on whatever workout I'm doing if they're too hard, or too easy, or I'm just not feelin' it on a particular day.

Jessica Smith has a bunch of videos of all kinds on YouTube - for free! She has a Fit in 15 series and many workouts of 10 minutes or less. She films many of them in her little apartment, so they're ideal if you don't have much space to work with.

I'm also a big fan of Fitness Blender when I want something a little more vigorous, and Yoga with Adriene. Both of these are free on YouTube as well.

I'm on Day 1,099 of my 20-minutes a day exercise streak, which started out as a 10-minute per day committent and just went from there in a hurry. I encourage you to commit to 10 minutes a day of SOMETHING. Who knows; on Sept 16, 2019 you may be bragging about your 1,099-day exercise streak!!

Keep up the good work, and be good to yourself.

Hello my name is Tammy. I have been on spark people a little over a month. New to this team. Hoping to find that "supportive" team for me. I do work at home. I have a 2 bedroom apartment by myself and I turned the smallest bedroom into an exercise room. I like working out at home, no one looking at you or staring at you. I have a variety of exercise dvds, someone just gave me a zumba dvd. It's a little intimidating but I told myself if I can only do 10 minutes at first, that is a good start. I haven't done it yet though.

I am also doing weight watchers, in 2 months I lost 22 pounds. Now my weight is fluctuating. I need to do something to jump start my weight loss again. Any ideas. I think this team is a positive start for me as I looked at other posts.

Hello. I am a past member. I need you to kick my butt. I am a writer and basically count chores as my exercise. Do you think Jodi Stolove's Sparks Sparkteam would be good for me? I contacted her but have gotten no reply. Her team is a chair exercise team, perfect for me as my desk and computer are my mode of transportation and work! I am not physically challenged. Just pressed for moments where I could fit in a little here or there.

Thanks!

Hello all! I am a newbie to this team but not a newbie. I used to be a member under an old profile. Here's an interesting fact, when you delete a SP profile, your picture and name still remain on all of your old friend's lists. Very strange. I am thrilled to be back as I lost over 40 pounds with support from members on SP. I love to work out at home. I do various videos, at home strength training (mostly from random exercise charts that I find online) and have an elliptical and treadmill at home that I use. I look forward to continuing my weight loss with the mutual support of like minded individuals!

It took more than a day to put it on. It will take more than a day to take it off. MOVE.

6 months from now you're not going to remember how that food tasted; 6 months from now you will be able to see results

Good Morning-- from sunny yet crisp, Finger-lakes Region of NY.

I have been a member here for a few years, new to this team -- I haven't really found that right fit- to help keep me accountable.
I work the over night shift 11-7 as a CNA - and am starting nursing school this year.

I was in amazing shape before-- and have gotten lazy. There is no sugar coating that fact-- I used to be so active, and then became complacent at being at home with the kids -- but now that I am out -- I need to get myself back.

I do not live in an area where those fancy gyms are available, and am not paying 45 a month to use the local town gym, 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical, a few machines and lots of free weights.

I have tried so many DVDs -- I like them but peter out. Turbo Jam, P90, Leslie Sanson, Jillian Michaels, the free ones on SP --- ugh.
I'm a mess with workout ADD---

So I guess that's me in a nutshell -- Just looking for buddies to bust my chops and keep me accountable. I am trying to get my sister in law to workout with me-- she is a nurse, but she works days --

Cheers-- to a new way of thinking, working and getting healthy emoticon

Good Morning, All!
Have been looking for a good "fit" teamwise but with little luck. Had thought this might be it as I work out at home, but am thinking maybe not....we're on different tracks. I am 73 and do not work out to the extent that most of you do. I generally do yoga at least 5 days a week, weights 3 days per week, and treadclimber or elliptical 3 days, throwing in a stint on my husband's recumbent bike every now and then. Obviously I'm not in this for body building or to look good in a bikini, but I like being healthy and energetic. Put on some weight and am moving it off slowly....enjoying the journey.
Be well and happy during the holidays.

Hey all you new friends, welcome aboard! I envy any of you who have good weather year-round for outdoor workouts. But if you're like me and have a significant number of indoor workout days, you might like to try Fitness Blender or Jessica Smith workouts (both available free online) on your indoor days.
Keep at it!

Hello! I am joining this team from buffalo, ny. I am a very busy teacher and I like being outdoors so I either get my exercise in outside or with DVDs in my house. I have been slacking though and really need a kick start to re-establish a consistent exercise routine so feel free to give me a push in the right direction!

Hi Everyone - I'm Lisa. I'm not quite 53 years old. I live in southern Wyoming, U.S.

I got serious about changing my lifestyle and utilizing SparkPeople on April 22 this year. I have met all my goals to date and have 6 pounds left to lose by 10/31. I've been doing a LOT of walking this summer; however, where I live the winters can be brutal. Planning on utilizing all my dvd's, treadmill, and leg press this winter to really tone up and be healthier than when it starts.

I have the 21 Day Fix Extreme first on the list to begin on 10/1. A tad bit intimidated, but I need to really start doing some serious training to firm up and get all the parts back where they belong LOL.

Best of luck to everyone and I hope you are experiencing the success and motivation that SparkPeople has given me. Without it, I'd still be "the big lady." The trackers have made all the difference for me and I log in everyday that I can.

Making mindful choices, that's how I roll.

Hi I'm Emma and I live in Wales.

I work long shifts in a contact centre and don't get home till after 8pm. I don't get time to go to a gym so I have been trying to get fit using dvd's at home. I'm very lucky to have space to exercise at home and have been trying to build it into my daily routine.

I would to hear from others.

Hi RIPRISE, and welcome to the team. There are tons of videos available on YouTube for you to try, depending on your intensity level and interests. Lots of people like Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds (WATP) to start off; Fitness Blender is more intense, but has a great variety of workouts from HIIT to dumbbells to stretching; Yoga by Adriene has a 30-day introductory yoga series that isn't too intimidating for people new to the practice. Good luck reaching your fitness goals!! --kathleen

Hello there! I am new team! I came across this team and it is perfect for me. I prefer to work out at home! My workouts vary from treadmill, rowing machine or workout videos of various types. I have never been a fan of going to the gym and waiting on machines or having to commute to workout when I can put on my workout gear and do it right from home :)

Today is another chance to get it right!

When in doubt, go workout.

Hey Katie! It'll take some real commitment to stick to the plan with such a big move on top of it all. Sparkies can help a lot, so holler if you need extra support. Some friends of mine moved to Alaska, came back to the mainland, them moved back as soon as their kids grew up. So for some people it turns out to be the best place ever. Keep an open mind - maybe it'll be that way for you.

Hello everyone!
Katie here. I have a long journey ahead of me and no friends or family near me. My newlywed husband and I moved 1,500 miles away from home for employment. I live in "bush" Alaska and some of the locals have made it known they don't want "white people" for friends. I'm really looking forward to meeting people and making friends here that will help keep me accountable and quite honestly, keep me in a better mood. I LOVE being around people and doing things, but here it just isn't an option. Hence I've purchased a healthy helping of at home workout DVD's and am trying to make the best out my time in this location (possibility of moving in 3 years YAY!). PLEASE, don't be afraid to friend me! emoticon
Have a wonderful day!

I love that you found time to yourself that you can set the tone at home for YOU time. I'm trying to do that myself.

I haven't been BACK on SP too long maybe a week or two, but during that time I have started cooking at home 5-6 days per week for me and my family. WOW, what a difference it's made in setting the tone at home!

I am having trouble getting motivated to work out and I don't want to rely on a gym. I have a treadmill, elliptical, and have a free bowflex heading my way this sunday, I found no one using at my church.

I'm just looking for a buddy online to help me with accountability.

Wish you the best at your journey!

Hi everyone! I'm Jes from Maine. I was using Spark regularly last year until my husband got home from deployment. Neither of us has been doing very well with keeping in shape since then, so we're working on making better habits. Spark helped a lot before, I've never known a more supportive and uplifting bunch of people! I'm going to try to check in daily and blog my goals and accomplishments.

My favorite at home workout is Jillian Michaels' Yoga Meltdown. I'm going to be starting that back up as well!

Hi everyone- Happy New Years! I'm Samantha, 29 yrs old from Midwest, USA. I've decided this is my year for many things- including gaining control of my weight and feeling like ME again. Looking forward to being apart of this group and many thanks for allowing me to be along for your journeys as well. Lets' make it one for the books!

Hi, My name is Angela and I live in Northern Utah with my husband and two younger boys (I have two older boys outside the home. I homeschool my sons who are twins and both have disabilities and are unable to be at home on their home. Also, I have a chronic illness that sometimes interferes with the consistency of an exercise routine so I prefer to work out at home. I am glad I found this forum.

Hello all!! I have just joined this team!! I am a longtime Sparkpeople member. I used to be the type who only worked out at the gym or walking outside around the neighborhood. But I have switched. I now prefer to only work out at home because I can control everything there, the mood the lighting, music, scent, etc etc. I actually like to come home after work (midnight-2am) and in the candle light with headphones (country music) I start by stretching, then some yoga, the some free style dancing which typically looks like step aerobics, then I end with my ab circle pro. That is when I do it.

Build good habits!! Extinguish bad habits!!
Make decisions based on the longevity you want from life.

HELLO! I am new to the team not to Sparkpeople. I am currently using the 21 day fix DVD's. Working out at home is my only option now as I have two daughters, 5 years old and 6 months old. Going to the gym just would never happen :)

emoticon everyone! I have returned on this team after two years (I use to be TRICOTINE) and not exercising. I need support and motivation to get back on track, especially with Strength Training (bleh!) and I know this team is the best place to be for that! emoticon

Except for ice skating twice a week at the arena, I exercise at home: Wii Fit U, indoor bike and I am trying to get those videos on for ST, Pilates or Stretching. I need low impact exercises after being injured for 5 years (too much running...)

I resumed 'sparkling' at the end of September and I am pleased to say that I lost 12 lbs since I have been tracking my food intake. emoticon I lost a total of 60 lbs over the past year and I am now 6.4 lbs away from maintenance weight! emoticon

Hello, I've been an active Spark person for awhile now, I recently had a C-section and am still in recovery another few weeks, but trying to walk and do what I can. I work out at home, or outside (biking, hiking) I use the WII a lot, have lots of various games, boxing, yoga etc. I like to keep it fun. I also have a stair stepper, and some free weights.
I still have 10 lbs to loose to get back to pre-baby weight, but lots of muscle to re-build. I cant wait to get started.
Baby had some complications after birth (Like almost died) and I am probably going to have to quit my very active job to be a stay at home for the winter (flu, RSV season) to prevent long term heath issues for the baby. Already going nuts cooped in the house not able to work out.
I need a active group horribly bad, all the loose the baby weight groups I joined nobody ever post....

Hi. I'm "V". I'm 41 y.o., married and the proud mother to an 8 y.o. girl and 4 y.o. twin boys. I lost about 18-25 lbs pregnancy weight from my last pregnancy twin boys. I try to jog and walk every other day. Do weight training from the SP bootcamp videos I bought years ago 2x/week. Started a new job as a school nurse a month ago with the State of VA, and I'm moving to a bigger house in the next week. Been combating GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) for years which have cost me several jobs. I think I've been in better control of it recently than I've ever been ever since cheap, inexpensive therapy at the local medical school. Right now, I just want to give up late night snacking although it's fairly healthy (e.g., airpopped popcorn, 1-2 cookies, few pretzels). Glad to meet everyone! Keep on working out everyone! P.S. Going to do my 2nd 10K in 2 weeks..slower than ever!

I'm Kathleen. I live in Wisconsin, so my activities are somewhat limited by the weather (alas, I'm not a winter-weather lover). I've been doing at-home workouts since I was in college doing Jazzercise with my housemates. My current faves come from Fitness Blender, but I'm always looking for variety. In decent weather I like to walk, run, rollerblade, kayak and bike. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with the 12,000+ team members here.
Spark on!
