Hi, My name is Pagona, I'm 5'2-3/4" tall :), I live is Southern California, I've lost almost 40 lbs and I have somewhere between 13-23 lbs to go. I have two goals 138 and then 128. The reason I have two goals is because I have not been in my 120's in 23 years, So I know things are different being 120 in your 20's. Since having kids my body has changed a lot. I'm currently 150.2 as of this morning (by WI is not until Tuesday)but I wear a 4/6 or 7/9 in jr. I've been a part of SP for over a year but have really gotten move involved these pass few months.

I'm really excited about this team more so then a few of the others I've been on (except my running teams, I love my running teams)

Even when your day does not go the way you wanted it to, remember there is always tomorrow to start your day all over again.

Hi all!

I'm Lisa in CA. I just turned 46 and will be marrying my (36 y/0) soulmate on June 27th! I'm pretty excited! We met 12 years ago, so we're due!

I'm 5'1", but if I poof up the top of my hair, I can be nearly 5'3".

I'm stocky, muscular, and have huge boobs. I hate being short, and wish I could just stretch my body higher...like those rubber stretch toys. Then, my muscles and chest would be more proportionate. Maybe it's being muscular and chesty that I dislike... I could hang with being short if the rest of my body was more petite....

I married a guy who is 6'4" back in 1986, and had 3 girls. The oldest is short like me (5'3") but the twins are 5'9" and play varsity girls basketball. I think I married tall so my offspring could enjoy life with a few more inches than I have. My current fiance is only 6' tall.

I love yoga, am a part time yoga instructor, and love wine tasting, collecting, and dabbling in wine making. My day job is a kindergarten teacher. At least I don't have to bend over to far to help the kindees!

I'm Linda from Connecticut- 41 years old and 4'10". I have two children ages 7 and 5 who keep me busy with hockey games and dance lessons. Currently i am 100lbs but still very flabby in the lower half. I have only been on Sparkpeople for the past few weeks and it's been almost a year since i joined a kickboxing gym and lost 12lbs after being sedentary for 10 years. Being short has never stopped me from anything- i played defense in soccer in high school,was in ROTC and was a volunteer firefighter for 8 years ( the gear weighed more than me). Right now i am a Registered Nurse/Respiratory Therapist working on a cardiac floor and volunteering as an EMT in the fire department. I love this site and all the encouragement!! Hi! I'm 5'1 and have always had weight issues. Either I'm down to 78 and hospitalized or 140. I can't seem to get it right. Before Christmas I was 98lbs and today when I stepped on the scale I weighed 124. I feel so much better when I'm around 105. The problem is getting there

Hello Everyone, I am 5'2 and overweight. It seems a lot more difficult to lose weight if one is short without looking bulking. I workout everyday at a 24 hr fitness and eat healthy. I would like to lose 80lbs to be at 130lb so that is my goal.

hi thanks don't know where the fluffy part came from i think perhaps one of my girls the youngest always calls me a fairy which i find flattering considering most fairies are pretty i just wish i had the magic wand.

I love exercising i usually do dvds at home dance workouts mainly.I did dance ballet,tap,gym,disco,jazz,stage and modern for 9yrs then i met my now husband and switched to dvds.

I am really struggling to loose it this time i'm hoping with my determination i'v kept going for 8 months with no results i will break through and loose it.Last time i got stuck for 7 months i'll get there eventually.

i'v added you as a friend and i'm sure we can keep each other going 6.4lbs first week way to go.I know what you mean about water weight think like this 2lb fat 2lb water and 2lb rubbish your body don't want the other bit for stupid technology.

When i weigh in end of each month i weigh three times cause last month it said i'd lost 3lb yay next to times were the same i'd actually gained 4lb dam so i make sure which weight shows up repeatedly i take as the real one good or bad.

FluffySue. Love your name. I feel a bit fluffy myself.

Had a great first full week of Re-Sparking. Lost 6.4 lbs. Of course, it's all water, I already gained back 1 1/2 overnight. Stupid scale.

Im trying to get myself motivated to get on that treadmill. I spend half the weekend clearing out a nice spot for it. Risked a major sinus infection (basement dust) doing it. I got the sinus headache, didnt get on the treadmill.

I am going to do it today. I'll let you know how it goes.

hi i'm so happy to join this team this is the sort of team i'v been looking for.All my friends always ask how much i weigh and what size i'm wearing then moan when i tell them cause they are bigger than me.It's so frustrating when i want to loose baby weight (from my third child) and they are like your a size ten(uk) you don't need to loose weight.I try to tell them i'm only 5"2 but they won't listen.

When i lost weight after my second daughter i was a size6(uk) and i wanted to loose a bit more everyone accussed me of being ill or something but i tried to say it's only like thry are a size 14 and want to be a ten.

Finally i may find some people who understand it's more than a number it's about muscle and how clothes fit.I hope you can all help me and become my friends who actually know how i feel.

Let me know your secrets and i'll help if i can.

Hi,I'm Annette. So glad I found this team. Needing to lose 40 lbs on a 5'3" frame looks so different than someone who is 5"10" and needs to lose 40 lbs. I have condensed flab...all squished into this little package of me.

I'm Melody. I'm just over 5'1" and weigh... way too much. I haven't gotten on a scale lately but I know it is 200+. I actually joined SparkPeople 3 years ago when I first started to lose weight... lost about 25 pounds over 8 months down to 170 and then gained it all back plus some over 3 years. Ugh. I'd love to use the excuse that the past few years of life have been one stress after another... but that really isn't an excuse, is it? So... here I am just trying to get back to where I started. I tend to lose weight pretty slowly, which is frustrating! I am so glad to find a group for us shorties... and hoping to get back to sizes where I can buy clothes that fit me right! :)

Hi All,

I was just doing some group searches and wasn't really expecting anything for my stupid searches...but this group popped up :)
I'm 5'3" (and a bit - but basically I'm 5'3"). I've been on SparkPeople for 2 weeks and have already lost 1kg (2.2 pounds) simply by cutting back on portion sizes and taking more care in what I eat. I'm still eating the food I love though!

Hi. My name is Teresa. I am 5'2" and am so glad to find a team with people who know how much harder it is to lose weight when you are short.

At my heaviest, I weighed over 220 pounds. Two years ago, I used SparkPeople to get down to 150 pounds. Now the weight has been slowly coming back on because I'm not taking care of myself like I should be. I'm 165 now and hope to get it down to 145.

I'm going to try to get a bit more involved with the SP community this time around. I hope it helps me stay motivated. I'm starting the Spark Your Body Bootcamp tomorrow and was hoping to find someone else who is also doing the bootcamp to buddy up with. I'm 36. I've been happily married for 16 years, but we have no kids. And I'm a high school teacher.

I'm 5'2 and 3/4, but usually I just claim to be 5'3. Up until the past few years I never had a weight problem but as I got more into my 40s, the more weight I seem to put on. I seriously don't except to once again weigh the 103 pounds that I did in high school, but I would like to see how close I can get to at least 120. Preferably 115. I have short legs which even when I was skinny that was where my weight went. I imagine that will never change but one can always hope.

Hello everyone!

Here is a little bit about me =]

I am also new a newbie to the group and am looking forward to this new adventure! I am 5'2'' and I lost about 35 pounds last year but it all came back and then some due to stress. I graduated from high school in June and just finished my first semester in college. My parents got separated in June and so I moved an hour away from my college which has been hard. Moving far away also has been a challenge because I don't know anyone here and all my friends went away to college, but this comes with the territory =] . I hope this group will be just what I need to get my butt in gear to get my weight to where it should be! Things happen for a reason, which I have accepted, so I am ready to start this next chapter of my life!

I'm Stef, and I'm 5'one-and-just-enough-of-a-fraction-to-say
-two. I'm built really broad (my legs never DID grow into my shoulders), and I don't want to be super-skinny, so my goal is just to get to my weight in high school. I was a member of SparkPeople back in 2007, and then because of my antidepressants and back problems, losing weight and getting healthy went on the back burner. Antidepressants are kind of a pain-you're less depressed, until you think about the 20 lbs they helped you gain in the course of less than 2 months. And then you get depressed again! This time around, I have a super-supportive boyfriend who is helping me stay motivated and a friend who joined the site around the time who's also keeping me on my toes.

Hey there! I'm Anne, 50 yrs young, and I stand at about 4'11". Small bone structure, I have very small hands and wrists. I love to take really long walks, belly dance, hula hoop, and be silly. I used to knit and sew a bunch but since I started working out I find I don't like to sit as much!

I found this team when I visited another team member's page. My "real" name is Susan, Izzy and BeBop are my two adorable cats. I'm 51 and 5'1", married for 29 years, two children (a son, 28, and daughter, 25).

I don't need to lose a LOT of weight, but do need to get back to where my normal clothes are loose rather than tight because I HATE tight clothes!

I am new here!...Hi my name is Kristin I live in South Jersey and am 5'3''. I joined spark back in the beginning of July I believe and am so close to my goal weight, which I hope I am happy with once I get there.

I think this team is an awesome idea and love that I can talk to people with similar sizes as me in height, and we can discuss things that go along with being shorter.

I love playing field hockey as I played in high school college and not that I graduated in May, 2009, have been volunteering my my old high school team as an assistant coach (so if you know field hockey you would understand why my thighs and butt are so BIG!) . I graduated nursing school and can't seem to find a nursing job anywhere, but still am relentlessly trying. I have 2 temporary jobs at a gym as a nurse just doing assessments, measurements, weights, and some other tests, btu I get a free membership so hey!...I love it..and I also substitute nurse and substitute teach in my school district until I can find a full time nursing job.

Hi I'm Dorothy.
I live in a small town called Rock Falls,Illinois.
Been overweight most of my life.
My heaviest weight was 176 pounds about 4 years ago.
I joined Curves and got down to 134.
Since then I went back up to 142.
Anyways I exercise about every day and try and eat healthy.
So hopefuly I can get down to 130 pounds again.

Hi all! I've been active on SP since August 2009, although signed up more than a year ago....I've been looking for a weight loss team that 'fits' for some time....

I have always been small - I'm just over 5' 3" and currently weigh about 120. I would like to get down to 110 as that is where I feel most comfortable. I realize it's a smallish goal, but it seems to take a long time for me to lose (common for us little gals!), and it's a big goal to me.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

Hello Everyone!

I joined SparkPeople last week and it is awesome. I found this team today. I am 4'11", 45 years young. In 2007, I started on a healthy lifestyle journey and I lost 25 pounds. My final weight was 105. I have since put back on 10 of those pounds and have decided to get back on track. Besides, I will not buy bigger pants! It's great to be here.

Howdy! I'm 5'0" and have packed on 20 pounds just in time for my 40th. Happy birthday (yeah, right)! 135 lbs doesn't look so good in the mirror, and it's making me really really tired. My avg blood pressure reading is going up too. I'd like to get fit, not just physically but mentally as well, and am generally aiming to be where I was 5 years ago... exercising and meditating every day, eating well, and weighing between 110 and 120.

hi my name is evelyn , i live in nevada my husband is a marine , the reason why i'm doing this right know is because when he was in Iraq's i had a level of stress super high i put on me over 30 pounds i lost some of those pounds but i haven't lose the most of them so i have high hopes with this page so see u around also my height is 5'1

Hello, new member and looking to feel better about myself. I turned 51 and borderline high cholesterol. I don't want to take medication and need to lose 50 pounds. I am looking for encouragement and motivation. I am eager to succeed in my goal! emoticon

Hi, I'm Carolyn. I'm 5'1 and a half and 97 pounds. I joined Spark to try to get healthier, tone up, gain back a little weight, and feel better about myself. I'm not really physically active, but I'm working on that aspect. And trying to hit my calorie requirements.

My name is Teri, I'm 5'2" and my weight is 112 lbs.
I've been on the SP site since 8/2/09. I have been a smoker for more than 20 years and while I struggle to stop this habit, I do not want to gain weight.
I am quite active: walk 10,000 daily, ride a bike nearly 20 miles about 5x weekly, and I use free weights and exercise at home. I'm glad I found this Under 5'3" group, stop by my SparkPage and let's get acquainted!

Hi - My name is Christine and I am 4'10". I have been with Spark since Feb 09. I started on this site to lose weight before our wedding. It was a great way to lose weight and make great friends along the way. I lost the weight I wanted to before the wedding. I am now struggling to lose the last 10-15 pounds. My husband is supportive of my efforts but is TALL and stick thin. He eats what he wants and doesn't gain.

Being short makes 2 pounds look like 10. I eat GREAT during the weekdays and NOT so good on weekends. So the viscious keeps me from reaching my goal. So here I am.....

Hello everyone, my name is Tamara and I am 5'3" and 270lbs. I have actually been a member with SP for awhile now and had lost about 20lbs just before the summer. I thought I was on the right track until I got promoted at work which changed my fixed shifts to sporadic shifts all over the place and unfortunately I didn't know how to handle it. I gained back my 20lbs and became so discouraged. But recently I have been thinking about getting back on track. But I have realized that thinking and doing are two different things, so as of today I am a doer even if it is small steps. One small step is better than no step at all.

I'm 5'3 and I just started sp going on 3 weeks now.I love sparkpeople.Ilove doing stained glass and teaching stained glass.I started working out last week.Im hoping to lose as much as possible.

Hi all,
This sounds like a great group! I'm 5'2" on a good day but I'm considerably taller than my mom - who we call 'the incredible shrinking woman'. She used to be 5'2 but now I tower over her! She won't let us measure her but I'd say she's probably about 4'10. I don't mind at all being short. My daughter (who's 5'3") complains.. but i just tell her that good things come in small packages!

Hi everyone! I am so happy to have found this group. I am 5'1". I am about 50 lbs over weight and at this point I am starting over. I am trying to do 3 things, make better food choices, cut out the sugar and do some type of exercise for 30 minutes 4-5x per week (I get bored very fast with the same routine). My first goal is 10 lbs and to stay focused (that is where I tend to get off track.) I look forward to seeing everyones progress!

I'm Michelle and am 5'3 1/4" I also have to buy the pants in petite, and sometimes, they're still too long! I think I have a 29" inseam. It may even be 28". I've been a member of Sparkpeople for about 7 weeks, and have really learned a lot about eating healthier. I've lost 10 lbs. so far. I'm also glad to be here!

I'm Peggy, I love being vertically challenged and always have. I'm 5' 1 1/2". My 12 year old daughter is taller than I am, but I'm taller than my mom, so there. Being taller than 5' doesn't say much! LOL I have 2 kids, 12 yr old and 5 yr old son.
