HI!!!

It's great to see you are going to do a Triathlon. I was really scared about my first one, but once I did it, I was hooked. It was so much fun!

I too had not been swimming for years and years. So I took a swimming class at my gym. That helped to give me some confidence as well as endurance. Once you are comfortable swimming again, I would recommend that you find out where the swim for your race will be and get some practice in that environment. A dark murky lake or the waves of the ocean is a big change from a calm pool. You don't want to experience that difference on race day.

but most of all - enjoy the journey!

I have decided to start now to train for a triathlon next summer. I went and swam laps for 20 minutes this week after not swimming for at least 10 years. Still need to work towards running a full 5k (I still walk part of it), and my brother is getting me a bike. I found a website for beginner triathletes for training, but would definitely be open to suggestions.
