Hi Becky! Good for you! I am also a newbie to triathlons, and have found that active.com has some great info and tutorial videos on their tri pages/newsletters. Also, check out http://beginnertriathlete.com/ for some great info and free training plans for pretty much any distance race you want to try out. I have used a modified training plan from that website for each of the 3 races I've done.

I really like this venue for fitness--it spices up the workouts when you get sick of running, and there are so many ways you can improve, it seems to me (as a "new" athlete) that your learning curve in triathlons is steep--I have seen big gains in less time than I did in running.

Enjoy! Hope that wherever your training takes you, that you are having fun!
Carrie

I love to ride my road bike, started running last year and currently training for my 1st half marathon this Fall.... I am intrigued by the idea of a tri. I am not a "swimmer" (but was a life guard when I was 16, so explain that) but the idea of a tri sounds interesting.

I am a person that needs something "every year" to train for or I feel I will stop exercising. So I put my email address in a few newsletters and maybe, just maybe I will try one next summer.

So if you know of a list I should put my name on, or know of a great beginner race, or have any info for a newbie, please send my way.

Thanks,
Becky in NJ
